Regretfully I have decided to sell my much loved BMW 528 due to a change in career. I have owned this car for just over 3 years and I purchased it off my uncle who owned it for 6 years previous to me. In the time the car has been in the ownership of my family it has been thoroughly looked after and maintained.
The car comes in a very high spec, including: Shadow Line trim, PAS, ABS, electric front and rear windows, electric sunroof, electric mirrors, BMW on board computer and check computer, cruise control, central locking, wash/wipe headlights (currently not fitted but supplied with the car), full BMW tool kit, leather interior, CD played with electric aerial and original dealer supplied umbrella.
The car has Diamond Schwartz (metallic Black) paint work and shadow lined trim, meaning the car has no chrome work on the exterior of the car, which is one of the best colours available for the E28. For a 25 year old car the body work is in great condition but it does have a few minor defects, these being 2 small dents, some various stone chips and small scratches, with no rust on the car at all. The majority of the stone chips are on the leading edge of the bonnet and on the front skirt, one of the small dents is located on the front of the bonnet and the other on the roof (this one being about the size of a 50 pence piece and very shallow). The sides of the car are straight, the rear arches are perfect and the sills are rust free. I have done a few bits of welding on the car since I have owned it, replacing all four jacking points and a small patch in the drivers foot well (common areas to go on E28s), but these have been done to a very, very high standard as I used to be employed as an aerospace TIG welder. The sunroof was rusty when I had the car from my uncle (again common) so I replaced it with a rust free used sunroof and at the same time replaced the sun roof seals with new BMW items. Both bumpers are straight and rust free and had the rubber mouldings replaced with new items. The car also has the wash/wipe headlights but these were removed as I prefer the cleaner look without them, thought I still have them and they will be supplied with the car.
The engine is a M30 2.8 straight 6 coupled to a 5 speed manual gearbox. Having 184bhp the car is no slouch, easily keeping up with modern 4 door rep cars and is extremely free revving. It has been regularly serviced and maintained and has just received an oil and filter change. The engine is 100% original with the only none standard item being the stainless steel exhaust. The car required a new exhaust when I purchased it off my uncle, but as a new centre and back box is £600+ from BMW, I decided to have a custom stainless steel one built for the same sort of money but allowing it to last much longer. It has a raspy note to it but without being too loud due to the twin centre boxes installed. This engine will cruise all day long, starts 1st time every time and has never missed a beat since I’ve owned it.
I have slowly replaced all the suspension components on the car since purchasing it, as with any car this sort of age things become worn and tired. I have replaced all of the front and rear components other than the shocks and springs, which was next on my list. I have also improved the cars brakes as I have fitted Goodrich stainless steel flexible lines, reconditioned BMW E28 M5 front calipers with new vented and cross drilled disks and Red Stuff pads, and reconditioned BMW E34 540 calipers and disks. Also on the list of replaced parts is all of the steering components, everything other than the steering box, the car has since been 4 wheel laser aligned and now runs straight and true. I have replaced the original metric bottle top wheels with genuine 17” BMW Style 32 multi spoke wheels in the desirable staggered widths, 8” wide on the front and 9” wide on the back. These are in amazing condition, with the front having brand new Falken tyres fitted in the last week and matching Falken’s on the rear with 7mm+ tread left on them. The car drives and stops brilliantly with no knocks or noises.
The interior of the car is in amazing condition, originally the car came with a cloth interior but one of the previous owners didn’t like this, so had the seats and door cards recovered in black leather and the quality of the job done is amazing. There is slight wear on the driver’s seat bolster. The car still retains its BMW over mats, factory fitted rear blind, full tool kit and it also has an accessory BMW fire extinguisher fitted to the passenger’s seat. The dash has a few splits in it, which is common on these cars, but doesn’t take away anything from the interior. Everything works on this car like it should do, even the onboard computer and cruise control, however the engine temperature gauge has a slight fault in that it still works, however it just registers further down the gauge.

Examples in this condition and with this spec are becoming very hard to find. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about the car, feel free to call. (07791770223)
