I bought the car not long ago to assist in helping move around parts for my project american pick-up, having recently sold the pick-up I am no longer in need of an estate car, hence the reason for selling.....
MOT/TAX
The car recently passed an MOT on the 17th of MAY 2011, needing only 2 front shock absorbers and headlight adjustment. The car has just been taxed for 6 months 13/6/2011
EXTERIOR :
The exterior is in good condition for its age, it has a few scratches and dents appropriate for a vehicle of this age, the bonnet has a larger dent which appears to look like someone has jumped on it...... there is a slight bit of surface rust on the nearside front wing which looks to have been started by a loose mudgaurd which has chipped the paint off...... I have shown a picture of what it looks like when cleaned thouroughly and polished. this is how the car will be for the winning bidder....
INTERIOR :
The interior is in good condition also, with the exception of a few things, the drivers seat has suffered in true BMW fashion and the lumbar pillar is worn away (see pic) the drivers seat is not as clean as the rest, would probably benefit from a scrub, the passenger footwell has what looks to be drink spillage which I will try and clean up. The glovebox handle is broken and there is a "knack" to getting it open which can be shown. The split tailgate works fine (as shown). The boot floor is a bit dirty also, which I shall attempt to clean this weekend. The car comes with a rear load cover which has probably seen better days but still does the job.
PLEASE NOTE : In car entertainment will not be included with the exception of the 6x9's mounted in the rear.
ELECTRICS :
Everything electrical in this car works with the exception of the front fogs which have been removed. All the windows function correctly as does the double sunroof. All the buttons/levers etc work also, heating works superbly. I have 2 keys with the car which also come with alarm fobs, these also operate the Remote Central Locking and will automatically close the windows sunroof when locked.
ENGINE/GEARBOX :
The engine and gearbox work superbly, having owned a similar model with an auto box, I much prefer the manual gearbox, all gears select smoothly and the engine pulls right through the rev range, the engine does have a small oil leak from the back of the engine which I was planning to investigate this weekend also, there are no knocks from the engine and it doesnt use any water whatsoever, it currently has Red Halfords antifreeze after replacing the radiator for a brand new item.
TYRES/SUSPENSION :
The rear tyres are in excellent condition, fronts have started to wear on the shoulders, although still legal, may need replacing in the future depending on mileage etc has a standard 15" alloy spare wheel with a good tyre. Fronts shocks were recently replaced for new items for the MOT, this however has produced a knocking from the front suspension, I'm not sure what it could be but would maybe suspect the anti-roll bar droplinks.
The rear is self levelling suspension which works as it should.
