Not sure if that is the right title or not? I was just wondering, what is the plan of 'protest' against what happened with Cibi's Datsun? There were talks of petions and/or letters? We need to act united with this because then we will have more impact so I was wondering what was decided? If a petion were decided, then could we not write up an information board and have several sheets for people to sign on the RR stand? Also, flyers saying 'Sign Our Petion' etc that could be left on other stands. i think that CARS represents a good oppotunity for us to reach as many people as possible over a 24hrs. What are everyone else's thoughts.

Thing is, we need to know the full story etc before we can do that kinda thing, and it's not a petition against banger, as we've been told by members of this place and by the banger community themselves, they are not all bad, there's just a criminal element within.
We've gotta play it cool and work with everyone involved...

I think that there is stuff going on behind the scenes at the moment. Best to hold off until we know the full story.

you can't just petition against banger racers... there are bad elements within them but by far most of them are good guys, buying up unwanted stuff that would otherwise get scrapped (how many Bluebirds do you want on the roads?) and quite often putting the unwanted parts back into the classic scene.
i say hold off till we know the full story and the outcome of any criminal investigations, and see if anything is left to say then.

They only thing I'd sign is a petition to stop a certain banger racer from racing in the event that he is proven guilty.

On the bright side, at least awareness has been raised by this....

i'd sign for that, and better checking of vehicle docs before the race - no VIN, no racing.

ooh, sorry, i didnt mean a petion against Banger Racing - each to their own. I was more thinking about trying to iplement some sort of safety device. Anyway, it is best that we know the full story. Apologies for starting the thread, I just didnt want everyone to forget about it. Hope I havent made a fool of myself.

It was a lovely Datsun and it's a pain that it got nicked and raced. But I think it's time we all move on, lest we become bitter and twisted. Banger racers don't generally steal nice cars and race them. Make sure your insurance is up to date!
