Aye its an old Datsun 1200 'ute', ratdat has one, that one looks like a 'long' one (oo-er missus etc).

Quality machines in my book By reputation quality isn't a word I associate with the ones from South Africa.... But the original J ones are Spot On and one of my must own cars..

By reputation quality isn't a word I associate with the ones from South Africa.... That was certainly what Ed found wasn't it. Misaligned panels, bits fitted upsidedown and suchlike. Newer models have high roof which isn't so nice, plus rectangular lights. Round ones much better. Here's a couple of others from Datsun forum members.... This one's in Portugal and is currently undergoing restoration. And this one's from NZ.

Theres three right next door( about 8' from where i peck this out ) .A panel beater has storage yard and his apprentices have a couple they are resto/retro projecting.....does that sound right?

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

Here's mine. Its a 1987 South African car, with an early front grill. The build quality is indeed shocking. One of the main reasons I have no intention of shipping it to the UK - not until I find a genuine Japanese one for sale anyway!
