My sisters Ibiza, owned for 2 yrs. I purchased the car with the usual gearbox fault. for some reason the polo and ibizas or the 6n2 type have been fitted with a box made of cheese.
Gearbox was replaced with that from the polo gti, which apparently is stronger, however the linkage is slightly different. and it works fine, but now and again needs adjusting. been told a push kit, or a polo gear selector should sort this.
the other common fault is the pedal box, and that too has been replaced.
negitives are, few small dents, and the drivers door window drops off its runner, and the lock has become detached. central locking works, so really needs a blipper added.
Long mot, not actually been used since other than to drive up to my dads, Powerflow exhaust fitted, nice quiet system. not much louder than normal, just a throatier idle note.
