Alpine 7291R pullout radio cassette – one of the ‘six button’ bad boys from circa 1990. With cage, wiring etc. Bought seven years ago and assured working then. Has been well stored and looks to be in very good condition. Never had it in a car but put it across a car battery and it lit up fine. Features include Dolby, RCA outputs etc.
Was destined for my Metro Turbo, but I pulled the factory Philips out of it last night and can’t bring myself to chop up the original wiring, especially as it’s one of the only things on the car that does work without a problem. Much prefer the Alpine though, as it was the stereo I always wanted when I started driving and this one took me a little while to find. As I understand it, I’m not the only one to like these units and they have quite a following. Personally, I think it would look great in an Audi or VW.
Also, matching Alpine 3540 amp from the same era. Small and a “bridgeable power amplifier”. Untested. Amusingly, came from an ex-Max Power feature car and it was the car’s owner who I got it off. He’d bought it new in 1991 and had no reason to doubt its operation when he passed it on.
£40 for the pair posted to a UK address. Or can collect from Gloucester for a little less.
Pics available if you send me your email address by pm, unless someone would be so kind to post them up…
