I know the ones you mean. We've got a sales brouchure for one on the wall at work. I think they were the precursor to the old 307 although i have seen some that were later so they might have kept making them for the german market. I know i'd to get hold of one and give it some serious euro treatment ;D

Do you mean like this ugly mofo: I like them, like a Merc type 2 really but they rust like a good'un. I think this is a 306 but the 307 is more like the early sprinter isn;t it - you know, the square ones with the diesel that makes a lot of noise but doesn't go anywhere!! My uncle drove over from Sweden in the mid 80s in a motorhome built on one of these chassis: It took him about two weeks. The whole rear end was made from wood and it had a wood burining stove in the back - safety first.

There's another Mercedes van I've seen on trips abroad that didn't seem to come as RHD. Quite angular, not much bigger than VW T25. What are they? There's a camper one here in Attleborough.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.
