For this Sundays Retro! I am removing stuff from the back in order to save some weight for going up the strip. I may take the left hand Headlight out as well in order to get more cold air flowing in. Hopefully i should get some good times. My best time so far has been 16 Seconds in my old 2.0 16V Calibra but the Rover should better that by quite a bit. I would like to be doing over 100 when i cross the line. Latest tests show that this should be possible as the torque just does not seem to let up. Also i have still not been able to find the maximum speed out yet but i reckon it's around 160 after pulling away from AMG mercs that are on the 155 limiter. Any one got a long enough runway so i can find out? ;D

What sort of power are you putting out? 100+ terminal is pretty serious... Must go and check out your rides thread. I'm intrigued now... ;D As it's a test and tune/rwyb day, ie there's no actual racing, I think you can pretty much do what you want with no lid. I've seen 9 sec quarters with no lids before. Edited because I just looked at your rides thread... I'll be very interested to see what this runs. After a ride in a Vitesse years ago I felt cheated of many a school boy fantasy because it wasn't as quick as I thought. Yours has got the engine they always needed, and it just looks soooo right. Ahh, the 80s... Top work fella

a ton at the end probably means a high 13 second run. Thats some motoring in a SD1.

Never heard of that, perhaps they do now.
I remember the do gooders kicking off when it first opened that it didn't seem to be policed and people were speeding excesively. May have forced them into doing something.

The previous owner was a bit of a loon and made a habit of spitting bits out of the back axle though.

Mine has a problem with graunching into 3rd. The funny thing is that they are only supposed to do this when cold but mine does it when hot. Therefore i shall be spacing my runs out through the day so as the box is cool before i go up.
