Hi! My name is Alex and I'm a 18year old guy from sweden, I bought this Viva for about 2 years ago and I have fixed the rust on it, the brakes etc.. And last summer I got it trough MOT but pretty fast I realized that I wanted it to happend more when the pedal was on the floor.. This is what the car looked like after MOT: Not the nicest maybe, but it was running!! And ever since it passed MOT I was thinking about what I whould do with the engine, replace it totaly maybe? Turbocharging it, to be "one of a kind" ? well, the head was spinning good for some months.. I started on a turbo conversion, but I figured that that was nothing for me.. And a friend had a Volvo 240 for sale real cheap, so I bought it.. Maybe abit sad with a old volvo engine, but since the hp/money is so good I couldnt resist it! While I was thinking about the engine I renewed the frontend abit, new bushes, balljoints, steeringjoints.. : And then I tested to lift the engine in, after a "few" lifts the engine was in place: Cut up the frontend so the radiator sits behind the grill instead, saves some room! We will see if it will be able to cool the engine or not. I like the way the frontend looks now, I think it looks mean.. ;D Well, about there I am now. If things go as planed I have my drivers license on Wednesday, fingers crossed.. And then the build hopefully will take on faster! Cant wait to test drive it. I hope someone likes what I am doing and not just thinks that I'm destroying it.. Btw: The engine is a b23e with 136hp, and hopefully I will be able to keep the weight under 900kg, wich hopefully means it will be fun to drive! //Alex

It's surprising how well that fits. Top work! Well, i don't know if i can say that it fits that well.. I whould like to get it back around 2" more and then i could take it down 2-2.5" that whould be nice. But i didnt feel for cutting away all the metal on the car.. Thanks! Jaminben: I really think you should look at these volvo engines then, really good hp/price! Anglia68: Thanks, more pics will come when i have something to show Luckygti: Thats nice! I hope people will like it when its done to, it might not will have the best finish, but thats not the priority right now.. Grizz: Thank you! Rottie007: Hi! Yes, i don't know why but i cant see the old pictures either, really weird.. :/ I hope you will like it! Today i bought a silencer for the exhaust, radiator hoses, and some small things. Hopefully i will be able to get fitting radiator hoses from what i bought! And the engine will be quite loud with just one silencer I guess, but i will start with that and see how it feels //Alex

Niiiiiiiice I had considered the Volvo motor for my HC (among many MANY others) but considered it too heavy for what i wanted the car to do....but then a HA prob needs that engine in there just to stop the thing floating away! ;D Look forward to seeing how this progresses Steve

Thats nice to here, then i don't feel to stupid about using it Yes, it does weight some, but i think it will be fun to drive anyway.. Well, then i hope I wont dissapoint you! //Alex

Such a good idea with the Volvo engine, it should pull like a train, and with it being rear wheel drive you have all the bits there to do it in one!!
