My mate Andy bought this car last September to tide him over while he saved for something he had his eye on. When it started to misfire a in Feb he'd got enough to go buy the Ford Puma he'd been after and he just parked this up at home.
Anyway he asked me to get it running and sell it the other week because it was in the way and I quickly diagnosed that it thought it was a 2CV (running on 2).
After some DIY car psychology and a pair of new coil packs (common problem) it's driving rather nicely and it's time to sell this car on.
Actually I quite like this car because it reminds me of the Mk1 Clio which was my second car but it's far too modern to live on my fleet so I thought I'd offer it as a cheap tool to the people of Retro Rides for a week before it goes on evil bay. You never know it might do someone as a smoker for a while.
So the good:
1.6 8v engine pulls nicely
Central locking and front leccy windows, ooh!
Comfy seats and ride
Couple of little dents and scratches aside its fairly clean.
And the bad:
Andy wants his head unit back, although judging from the comedy install (falls out when you accelerate) that's no great loss, it's got an ISO connector.
RR RH door won't open, I don't know why but I'll try and fix it if I can.
The front LH tyre should make an MOT but it wont be legal for long.
Service history to 40,000 miles but it's a mystery after that, nothing about the car looks particularly neglected mind.
The boot is a bit untidy, missing parcel shelf and scruffy trim.
You'll have to argue with people about the colour, I say it's green, my friend says blue, the missus went for grey and the DVLA have gone with silver on the log book.
That's about it, good and bad. Lastly I'd like to say that I'm always open to swaps, the more interesting the better but I've not got easy access to a trailer so if you propose something off the road then you'll need to help get it to me.
My contact number is above or send me a PM. Best time to view would be the weekend. After that I'll brave e-ghey which I've never used for selling.
Anyway cheers for looking, heres the pics:
