(Fuggin weather, all exposed METAL! and left over untouchable rust patches and it wont stop raining!) Anyway, I intend to jenolite and rub away or cut down the non structural rust in the b pillar nook! then hammerite that and anything else exposed i can get to, then i wanna blast in the panels and through the skirt holes in the sills with some waxoyl style ectoplasm like a ghostbuster to warn off these ghoolish pesky brown flakes! So whats the best stuff to get? i have only glaced at it on shop shelves in passing, and wanna get the right rustbustin' plasm! any tips applying it? does it gust get splattered anywhere thats worried about? Cheers

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I've only ever used Waxoyl, it was messy as hell (if Satan is untidy), but lasted a couple of winters. Aside from that I'm afraid I've never kept a motor long enough... Just avoid stuff like Tetrosyl the heavy duty stone chip, as in my experience it tends to dry and crack, trapping water underneath it, or err, on top of it if you see what I mean.

Keep waxoyl well away from any areas you intend to paint otherwise you'll be in fisheye hell come top coat time.
Heat waxoyl up until very hot and it goes like water. It's easier to spray then. If you use it cold you can just whack it on with a underbody sealant gun but it puts it on a bit thick and tends to waste it. I have a special air powered sprayer thingy that does the job nice but can't remember where I got it. It looks a bit like a suction cup spray gun but with a long nossle on the front.

If its only small areas get the aerosol versions they will work out a bit cheaper. I have don't the GT every year before winter, but as its black when the sun gets on it in summer ou can see wax comming out the drainage holes lol
