Hello to everyone, I have been a long time lurker admiring everyones ultra cool retros, thought it would be about time to stick mine in here! I have had my Sunbeam for about 8 months, slowly been modding it to how I like it, still a long way to go yet though! This was the day I bought it-

Hi and welcome, Glad you put some pics up, that's a really tidy looking Sunbeam. Personally I much prefer those new wheels, the black centres match the dark window surrounds and trim on the car. The paint has polished up really well too, very nice. I dunno if I've seen one in this blue before, is it an original colour? Whatever, it certainly looks good in it. Any mechanical modifications done or in the pipeline? Cheers, Richard.

Cheers for the welcome, it is the original colour and that was my thinking going black and blue, going to change the bumpers to black ones too and maybe a black roof?! I have loads of plans for it, Its going in the paintshop next monday for some new front wings and a blowover, just fitted some cavalier recaros, got a full rollcage, complete black interior that me and the misses are making, and an SR20 DET engine and box!
Cheers.

What Mr Squidian said I'm really liking that. What engine is in it at the moment?

Cheers for the good responses, at the moment it has the 1.3 motor, an amazing 55 BHP! I will be leaving the 1.3 badges on though just for fun ;D Mr Squidian, i have been checking your car from the beginning, you are making excellent progress. I was pretty lucky to find one without too much crust, mainly the front wings!

That's really tidy. I quite liked the old wheels, but I'm a bit odd like that

I liked the old wheels too, nice set of compomotives, i need 15's on to get some bigger brakes on it. probably going to paint them gunmetal grey and do a bit of polishing on the rims.I sold the wheels on trusty ebay but if anyone is interested i will be selling quite e few sunbeam parts soon! It is going into the paintshop tomorrow so been stripping the front down today.

Well a few updates, some good, one very bad! Got the new wings on, pretty much a full re-spray in its original colour, with the wheels colour coded to match. looked lovely for a week! Then this happened last Saturday: Driving to my local shop, turning right and some old idiot overtook me as I was turning! Completley snapped the front strut bolts, wrecked the wing, door and wheel!

So i have been pretty damn awful with writing anything on this Thread so a major update!! After getting the Sunbeam back to my house in June 2011!! I decided to take it off the road until i had proceeded to finish all the mods i wanted to do, it is still not finished!!! A few pictures to show what i was upto: Took the carpet out for an inspection Found a bit of rust so replaced the floorpan: In the meantime spent a little money on some new compomotives so had to try them on! Arches at the back needed widening (more of that later!!)

I decided while it was in this state i was going to take the engine out- it was never going to be fast enough for me. ;D This was sold to the very famous hairymel, who very nearly killed himself getting it into his van!! Glad to see it going to a good home.
