Looks very well for a car with 200k on the clock. I've always really liked the E30 BMW's, particularly in 2 door form. Those new wheels look the business IMO.

cheers for all the comments people, its never been painted but i'll be getting it done soon as on the rear edge of the roof the paints pretty thin, which i think is the result of being polished alot over the years.

well, last night me and a friend went out to take a few pics with my new camera and as i was driving home my drivers seat fell back and made a snapping sound. as all this happened i got a sharp pain in the side of my leg, so i pull over and get out to find a nice hole in the bolster with a piece of seat mechanism poking through and a hole in my leg had a bit poke around and found that the metal tabs that secure the base to the back had snapped. so tomorrows plans are to strip seat and weld the tabs back in place. as for the hole in the bolster and cover, i don't know wether to try sew it up / put an iron on patch on the inside and hope for best or splash out on a leather retrim when fund allow. i'll stick some pics up tomorrow of the repairs

...had a bit poke around and found that the metal tabs that secure the base to the back had snapped. so tomorrows plans are to strip seat and weld the tabs back in place. I welded up a pair of these the other day - exactly the same thing happened to a friends car. When you weld it, make sure the lever bar thingy that sits in the locators can still rotate (i.e. don't weld it to the frame) and you might find you need to hammer some of the metal around to get it to all line up properly again. There is quite a bit of metal to weld to luckily but you can't quite get all the way inside to do the bit inside of the lever bar. Get a good penetration on the outside though and you should be fine. Make sure you check both sides of both bases. The drivers seat had only snapped on one side, but on closer inspection it was cracked and starting to go on the other side too. Obviously I welded this up while the base was stripped to prevent it going in the near future. Not a difficult job, but sorry to hear about the metal puncuring the fabric...and your leg Lovely car BTW - just goes to show you don't need an M-tec kit to make an E30 look cool.

so this morning I got up and started to strip my drivers seat (after eggy bread of course). anyway once I had the seat in bits I was greeted with this I had no way of straightening everything out to weld it so I had no choice but to just leave it, going to make sure ive got everything I need to do it tomorrow and have another go also put a few stickers on the back, no to everyones taste but thats how I roll lol
