I was rummaging in someones shed the other day after parts for my Mk1 racer and came across the following Leyland / Special tuning cam- CAEG - 599 It's NOS and this is the number on the pack, rather than the stick, which I think should be one digit lower. Anyway, I've looked in my Vizard book and can't match it, the closest numbers being for the sprint / supersprint cams. Someone reckoned it could be a special brew, 'cos no one ask recognises the number! Anyone out there know I'd like to know before I bid for it!

Are you sure that the cam and box should be togther?
I'm 99% sure that CAEG - 599 isn't an ST cam......do you know how old it is?
What engine spec is your MK1?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

I'm not sure, although I have no reason to doubt they go together, I'll see if I can get any numbers / marks off the stick. The guy who owns it ( and used to own my car) last raced Minis in the early seventies, so I don't think it's any newer than that. The engine spec is currently one man pushing it, one man steering it! ;D Seriously though, when it was raced it had a fuel injected 8 port Cooper S block (1293 cc I think), but thats long gone. My plan is to possibly fit a dressed up MG A plus but to ultimately build up an S engine, hopefully using the +60 block that I also found ( if the price is right) Hope that helps
