Sorry, I just really het the renault 5 Turbos. I'm not even that keen on the normal ones but the turbo version I find particularly offensive.
Twin Plenumb SD1's however are a different story. Now that's a car I could happily own!

Depends what engine is in in the camaro. If its a six pot like my old one then i think i'd be tempted to go for the renault, as long as its a good one. If its a 350 the the camaro would win hands down.
EDIT: Just read the thread title. Slap him like the curse word that he is ;D

I'd have thought the Camaro would have more potential (including engine swaps) than the Renault.

Oh yes its a 350ci (or 5.7l if you prefer) with headers, street dominator cam, edelbrock intake, holley carb, chrome dress up kit, just a lovely old motor, and before Muppetgti and cherryblack ask why i sold it, ask Emma (the wife) plus the old Rover has a strange hold on me, like hypnosis, it just makes me spend money on it without me thinking! ;D

He should get a 5 turbo, but def not on bling rims! They have a lot of potential, a friend had one that was super fast but every time it came on boost the dash fell off! French build quality!
Why does he want to sell the camaro? He'll be able to get the R5 going just as fast!

I'd have thought the Camaro would have more potential (including engine swaps) than the Renault. 350ci renault 5. Now we're talking ;D ;D At the end of the day i guess it all comes to personall preference. If it was a six pot camaro i'd choose the renault, just because i've never had one, i've driven a few and i know they're fun cars, and i've got enough projects on the go to really relish the thought of doing another engine swap. Plus Camaro's are not really nice cars. They don't handle, they drink juice like no ones buisness, and if its a t-top don't take it out in the wet. What am i talking about? I'd get another credit card and have both ;D

Camaro! I can understand yearning for small car on our small roads and some kind of fuel economy, but pile of cash in front of me? it would be the Camaro - for sure
|
|
it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

His Camaro is the one on the left here, it looked very clean. Yeah, I think he should keep it, or if he wants to move on find something better than the R5.

Here's a pic of it. this? or a Reno 5 FFS. There is a quite long list of people wanting to buy it if he does want rid.

I'm not sure. I can see the appeal of a Camaro. All smokin' tyres and big engines and throbbing-torque cruising cool. Probably a cast-iron investment too. However, I can also see that a Camaro isn't quite the archetypal cool yank. A bit fugly and more than a bit 'line dancing' if you catch my drift. And I doubt that one can put a big grin across you face as much of the time as razzing the nads off a Renner 5 Turdo. R5's can be picked up pretty cheaply though. Is it not possible for him to do both? Then eveyone's happy.
