Saturday I went to.....
Sadly I was booked in for other adventures for today (Sunday) so I was only able to take it in on Saturday, on top of it all I could not leave untill I had closed up shop but I loaded up The Shop Hack with the RF mini chopper and set out. Getting there was an unbelivable experince, an old airforce airstrip with hangars and huge fields of nicely mowed gras filled with cars. The pitlane was on one side of the combined show and camping area and the "strip" on the other side so all the race cars were driven or towed to the strip right through the crowds and at the 1/8mile strip you could almost stand next to the cars & bikes at the start, great layout.....
There were 4 or 5 real cool 60-70's front motor dragsters, a 70's Firebird Flopper and a bunch of door slammers, some real fast, some I could have beaten down the 1/8 mile with my 50cc Formula drag racer but everybody had a blast and the newly formed Swedish Vintage Dragracing Association SVDA got a new member, I will build a 60's style Dragbike with the 69 Iron Sportster motor that has been sitting around for years, I MUST DO THIS STUFF NEXT YEAR!!!!
The whole attitude was laid back and I hung around untill midnight (it's light all night an day here in Sweden right now), making new friends and enjoying cars. There were a bunch of cool cars and some normal cars but I got so excited about the whole SVDA thing I forgott to snap pix of everything so the last hour before going home I ran around with my (dog bitten curse word) diggi-snapper and got pix of some of the cars and trucks there so here you go.....
The Skoda Shop Hack loaded outside the shop.....
Some of the cars that went racing....
And the rest of the pix I snapped.....
The truck that made my day, awesome patina, air ride, wheels and roof painted lime green Metall Flake, it was just soooooo right.....
DP says: Loved the day and could (almost) have killed to be able to stay on for Sunday's fun.....
