No idea about acrylic paint, but would be interested to know myself.
Air fed masks normally sell for a lot more than that second hand on ebay. Normally 50 to 100 but depending on the make could be double that.

All i know about acrylics is that the little hycote rattle cans of acrylic are the curse word. They give a really nice finish and will cover anything. Cant really tell you how hard wearing it is though.

weren't vauxhalls painted in acrylic . think my firebird was, it was an absolute pig to rub down, very hard stuff. think acrylic laquer goes yellow after a while, not really sure TBH. I know brusercapri uses acrylic in his airbrushing, but hes in thailand at the mo. I know its not the same as painting a car, but it gives you an indication to its ease of application, colour fastness, mixing capabilities etc.

so that 2k 2pack requires thinners and hardner, where as acrylic is only ever used with thinners thus makeing it 1k? or am i totally wrong? ta.

acrylic is availiable in both 1k and 2k.
1k - 1:1 paint and thinners 2k - 2:1 paint and hardener + a little bit of thinners
2k is better and at £35 for 5 litres it is also very cheap. 5 litres will be enough to paint the car twice, the painter where i work recomends flatting the topcoat with 600grit wet and dry and painting again for the best finish.

Ah this is a current question i have,
We had to respray the front of my bros mini clubman estate a couple of weeks back due to a little knock which ended up having the front all resprayed, any ways dad got some arcylic paint and sprayied it thining it down with i think cellulose thinnners, it has taken ages to go hard, infact its still rather soft was sprayed a couple of weeks back now and still soft we have backed it a bit in the sun which has helped did he use the wrong thinners is there a specific thinners for arcylic. wil it ever go hard?
