When upright the weight of the seat is transferred to the bodyshell through the seat mountings. When folded it is transfered through...er...the seat mountings. Plus ca change?
It's obviously becoming some kind of generic chav myth though. Just goes to proove that some people will believe anything. Maybe we could convince them that sticking their (already empty) heads into the gas oven would increase the speed of the car because their heads would be full of gas and thus lighter! Needs a good few lungfulls mind!
