right, ive got my 1.0 16v micra, and it goes well, still needs a service but I'm in no rush atm for that, it goes, and it goes well, usually... the niggly problem is it stalls occasionally, i can usually tell when/if as it struggles to stay running! i first thought there was a leak from the brake servo as at first it only seemed to do it when slowing down,(i first thought it was me not being used to it too!) but it dosent do it all the time, and sometimes dose it when i just dip the clutch so have ruled that out. my current thoughts are: fuel blockage in injection unit, engine management fault, knackered plugs, or water in fuel tank! the tricky thing is identifying anything other than the knackered plugs! any help/ advice greatfully recieved!

What year is it mate? To me sounds like either an air leak or throttle position sensor. If its after 1999 you should have an EOBD compatible ECU. In which case i may be able to help you further.

I would have thought an air leak. No idea of the setup on those but anything after the airflow meter or throttle body would cause those symptoms.

actually, whats the chances of it being caused by fuel starvation, by lack of fuel tank breather? took the cap off the other day and it made a lovely psssh! (opening pop bottle) noise...

Dirty throttle body causing insufficiant air to be drawn in when throttle butterfly closed, fairly common on moden stuff with wibblepoo modern fuel and town driving. Just whip it off and clean out with carb cleaner and an old tooth brush.

My old 480 had a simillar problem, it was the idle control valve that plumbed into the inlet piping, just needed a clean on the contacts and it was fine again!
Good luck.

well it seems to have been poor quality fuel after all! a few tanks of BP's finest and its running loads better! was just about to buy a new throttle body for it too!
