i got given a head for free today ;D
so it seams like an excuse for some porting action....but i havent a clue where to start. anyone got any tips/tricks or websites i can look at??

If your just starting playing with headwork, I'd start by just cleaning the ports up. The castings can be a bit rough, so just grind / sand them smooth. Vauxhall ones can also be a bit rough where they're machined to fit the valve seats, so give that a grind too. Certainly seems to have worked on the Kadett! Good luck!

You need to build a flow bench from an old hoover, some MDF, some plastic tubing and a bottle of wine before you do anything.
Seriously though, unless you've got some way of measuring your results you could end up doing more harm that good, big ports don't mean big power.

Yeh you relly do need to know what your doing if you want to attualy change the shape of the port but you can get good gains by getting rid of the sharp edges and casting imperfections!
