...a super early Mini Metro. On a 'W' plate. Ideally, an 'S', in Pea Green or whatever the shade was called. I bet there are NONE left in that spec... I'd have it with slightly wider steelies and a monster 1440 lump, ta ;D Or a super early base one, with the different grille/lamps/bumper: Or a VDP? GOT to be metallic gold. What does this mean for my sanity, I wonder ;D

Darren - my mate Neil (who has the E30 325i now) used to have a yellow early Metro when he lived around here, might have been about Y reg, base model. It involuntarily 'lowered' itself once as I recall, something to do with the funny hydro-watsit suspension. I think it's still on the road around here somewhere! Actually, the lowering thing might be a standard 'feature' as I recall Louise's brothers one did that too...

Slamming can never work on Metros. It just looks like the Hydrolastic has popped.

I'd love to find a one-pensioner-owner VDP Metro, preferably in that "greeny golden shower" metallic. Or brown. Can't go wrong with brown. I prefer them flat-front designs rather than the povo sunken headlight versions.
Front clip from a Rover 100 1.4 K-Series?! Yum

I have been feeling the love and urge for these for a while. As i mentined yesterday My mom has a late 'Rover 100' model of metro.every time i get in to shift itit truely feels like a go kart compared to my car. I'd love one, i wathced a few earlys on ebay a while back, wish i could justify/afford/accomodate one.
"thinking mans Mini" i have heard somewhere before!
Whats the suspension thing about? did the earlys have Maxi suspension or summat?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I was craving one on coilovers, rolling on 13x7 Revolution four spokes, in red oxide and sporting a rack.

Wow, so thats like the Maxi thing yeah, My moms Metro sits pretty nice, looks low but not slammed firm suspension, didn't expect it to have complicated bits on it. Hmmm
