Right I'm putting this up here as I know the good folk of Retro Rides like a tinker and as this has been such a good car that my family are pretty fond of I don't want it going to the scrap man if it doesn't have to!
This was my sisters car and was bought about 3 years ago. A few days after we bought it the cambelt snapped, after a little investigation we realised there was no damage and fitted a new belt and all was well for the time she has owned it. Faultless in fact, its never missed a beat, and regularly maintained with receipts to prove.
As its my sisters car whenever me and my dad have spotted anything that needs doing it has gone straight to the mechanic to have it done.
Unfortunately about a month ago about a day after my dad and I were discussing booking the car in for a cambelt change the inevitable phone call came from my sister to say the car had broken down and the recovery man suspected the cambelt. Bad times.
We were on the lookout for a new car for my sister anyway but bit the bullet and paid to have a new belt fitted to the Alfa to see if we could be lucky a second time. Its been fitted but she doesn't run. Turns over but doesn't run, the mechanic said it might bump start but I can't see that myself. Possibilites in my mind are bent valves or its not timed correctly. We have a new car for her and my projects prohibit me playing with this.
So that's how it is. It still has TAX and with a little work would make a great run around for someone or a nice car to do the daily slog.
It has cruise control, full leather, electric windows/mirrors, climate control, CD etc etc.
Its not in the best condition on the outside, a few bumps and scrapes but nothing major, cleans up very well and from memory no rust. It recently had new tyres but will need a battery as the one on it has run flat.
I've put offers as I want it to go to a home where it will live again. I don't enjoy killing cars.
My mum says she has the receipts of all work done so it should come with history.
Here's some pics. Fire me a cash offer collected or swap for something interesting, a car, a decent welder (I'll reimburse my sister .
It does want a good clean too!
Thanks for reading.
