I've owned both engines and found no worries with them at all. The only thing they don't like is excess power due to poor oil gallery design between pistons 5 & 6 and.... they're an absolute gosh darn dash to change the spark plugs on when sat transversely and.... oil cooler failure... (which is often overlooked and assumed as HG failure) As well as regularily cracking exhaust manifolds Alternator replacement being an engine out job on transverse installs Head gasket failures for real let alone the oil cooler "apparent HG failure" Noisy tappets even at low mileage V6 Means 2 x lambda sensors and they don't last that long EGR valves sieze up on a regular basis Pretty asmatic performace with little character or feel I could go on but I wont.............

That polo is cool, I hope I am driving a 29-year old car when I am 93! Great stuff! 'Power steering? You youngsters don't know you're born' etc etc.

I need that Polo in my life! Unfortunately, a search of my wallet revealed the contents to be a Morrisons loyalty card, 23p in small change (5p of which is not legal tender anymore), some fluff and a badge saying "Nuclear Power - No Thanks" circa 1983.
