^^^ thats won car of the show at the NATS for the past 2 years, and the owner just paid lots of money to get someone else to do it. Don;t think it should be allowed

That green device with the 100bhp from 1000cc stickers is Imp powered... well, Talbot 930 (ex Talbot Sunbeam 1.0L) to be precise.
I saw that car roar down the A5 past my local garage the other day (on way to Silverstone, I guess) and it f*cking rools. Totally hand made, built on a Spitfire chassis with a home made body and that screamer of an engine. Top stuff.
I'm loving the subtle but ratty Alfa too... sort of says, "polishing's for whimps, I'm here for the driving". Cool as...

Just cos something is good for you doesn't mean its good for everyone - for example Marmite does not make good Dog Food.

Don;t think it should be allowed Being aware of your own abilities and time contraints shouldn't stop you from owning a show-winning car. Unless the guy passes it off as his own work then he deserves the trophy. It's a cool car and it's his...that makes him a legitimate winner in my book.

I dunno, i'd prefer to see someone who's put their heart and soul into it, not the one with the biggest wallet. Bit Ferrari F1 in my book. Don't get me wrong, the car is STUNNING!!! i just think it's a bit unfair, thats all

Don;t think it should be allowed You're thinking of Gus Patel's one I think. There are a handful of these pickups in red, but it's Gus's that is the high dollar one. He brought it over from the States. Anyway, can't see the problem with getting a car built. My dad's one was built at Burnham Autos, he did what he could but he's no welder so someone had to do the bulk of the work. He did some painting stuff, wiring, assembly and made the wood bits, they did the rest. Think of it this way, I'm building what's going to be a cherry of an Anglia and I've done it in my copious amounts of spare time so it's cost me next to nothing. There's no way the average man has that much time, but the average man earns a hell of a lot more than me so he could pay to get the work done instead. It's tit for tat as I see it.

I know someone interested in the motor out of that Scorpio. He has a 2.8 Capri he wants to spice up. I didn't know if you'd still got the car. Not sure if he wants the full motor or just the heads, intake, brains, loom, etc. We were drinking beers at the time so I'll check with him if he's still interested and put him in touch.
