Additional Information:
Good points - Owned by me for the last 10 years during which time it's had literally thousands spent on it with all the bills to prove. Lovely CX in fantastic condition looked after by me and a highly regarded big Citroen specialist. Utterly reliable, breaking down only once in the whole time I've owned it which was points related. Now on genuine Citroen electronic ignition. You don't see many better than this and there are not many Cxs for sale anywhere these days. Mechanically great, regassed spheres last year, great engine and gearbox, ran 92.7bhp on a dyno last year, drives beautifully great paint etc etc etc. Also has climair wind deflectors fitted. Rear arm bearings are good. The body is structurally great and clean, as are the longerons and rear subframe.
Bad points -The door cards have come away from the doors around the edges and there is some corrosion starting on the o/s/r quarter (wing).
Featured in Classic and Sportscar Mag last year, I will give the new owner the complete set of amazing pics from the photoshoot on CD and a copy of the magazine.
Selling as I just don't have the time these days. It's a lovely rare and interesting piece of retro space age which deserves a good new home.
I’m sure people reading this will know all about the ride quality of old hydropneumatic Citroens. These early CXs are VERY soft and glide seamlessly over anything and everything but handle really well in a French kind of way! They are uncannily comfortable. It also has speed sensitive self centering steering and incredible brakes (discs all round).
Being an Athena this is a more unusual model and comes with electric front windows, plush blue seats and carpets, rear sunblinds, rear sunvisors, tinted glass and stainless steel wheel covers. Engine is 2 litre all alloy OHC “Douvrin” with a 5 speed manual box.
