Bet you were chuffed with the engine internals! The A6 is quite an old style grind by today's standards. If you ever rebuild it again think about replacing it with a Kent 244 or 254 depending how much lift your head can accomodate. The 244 will give you a bit more top end power but a lot more bottom end grunt. i bought another cam recently as it is not really suited to road/fast road use, got my self a kent KC3FY Application Power Band Cam Lift(mm) Valve Lift(mm) Duration Timing Full Lift VC (mm) LTDC Required Parts Sports 2500 - 7000 6.70 I 9.88 E 9.82 276 Deg 30/66 66/30 108 Deg I 0.30 E 0.36 I 2.16 mm CF6 / CF7 VS5 hopefully a bit more friendly for the road

The A6 profile hails from yonks back and was designed for short oval/hot rod racers with low gearing. The lack of low down torque and power combined with a 3:54 diff probably made it feel even longer geared than it really was. The new cam should improve things considerably.
