Fiat 850 snapped throttle cable last week, cobbled it together to get me home and last night raided the spares car for the cable, open 1 clip and disconnect at carb. pull cable from steel tube running from pedal back thru to the engine, no probs so far,removed broken cable, cleaned up replacement cable and started to feed it down the tube, sticks with about 1' to go, no matter what I do it wont go any further, have a peek in engine bay, no joy, back into car , grab cable,
JESUS H C thats hot!!, pull out cable,open bonnet, battery acid everywhere!
B@STARD must have earthed of starter motor cable, turns out steel tube joins up with plastic covered pipe to insulate cable into engine bay and this had come off . Locked the car,bringing to my mechanics garage to borrow his lift so I can see what I'm at...
Oh and found a rusty hole in the inner wing as well
