Having resurrected a 164 last year and being bitten by the Volvo bug (bit sad i know), this is the beginnings of another project to go alongside. Other than needing the rear arches redoing, the shell is pretty good and being A 142S already has the twin SU's and overdrive as a starting point. I'm thinking along the lines of lowered, Minilites or Compomotive wheels and a orange paint similar the colour used on early 911's. ![](http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz184/gt-rxu-1/volvo/10032011177.jpg)

Quite the nice start... Looks more rust free than most 140 series I see over here. I've got a '72 142e that *was* rust free when I got it... But one winter of neglect plus one leaking battery fixed that.
Great fun these cars are... The b20 is a plenty peppy motor in a S...

Fabulous. I remember somone with a new 142S when I was a kid - walked past it every day on the way to school at the end of the 60's/early 70's - same colour as this one.
I used to have an early 145S - when I sold it I got rid of all my spares which included a pair of NOS inner wings.....

Verrrrry long shot....but I sold it to Jim Thompson who ran a classic dealership near Newbury called Pioneer Automobiles. I loaded all the spares I had in the back and swapped it for a Citroen XM - this must have been around ten years ago.
Jim traded it fairly quickly to a dealer in Wiltshire called Country Classics. I'm pretty sure Jim kept the spares back - he might have sold them to Charlie Garrett in Oxford who used to run a Classic Volvo workshop. He might also have stuck them in the back of his barn. Jim has retired from Pioneer and sold the business on, but he's still involved with the business - I spoke with the new owner a couple oif weeks ago at a local show.
Might be worth putting a call or two in to see if they're still around somewhere.

Any news on this? I'm going through my bookmarked threads, checking I still think the cars in them are interesting, then giving the OP's a shove as I want updates!
