I don't understand these? They run on petrol but to save petrol you ride as your going down hill? Like a moped but you get rewared by pedaling :L

The pedals are to start it . You pull a starting lever to engage the clutch and pedal it until it fires up.

picked it up today it had been left outside for some years and had a bag over the engine no plug it was ceased up and would not turn over so I pulled the head off and gave it a light tap and now it turns over. also I has a good spark now I have fitted a spark plug and I hve tested the horn and front light. the cluch works well but the lever on the bars for the brake and cluch lever has snaped on the brake side. so it looks like all it will need to get it on the road is a new brake lever, tail light, down pipe, carb, fuel tap and A flywheel cover. need help with the switch on the bars. its on the left hand side with a lever that can go back 1 notch and forward 2 notches a button on the top and a very small button at the back. I know the top button work the horn and the lever on the side works the lights. what does he small button a the bak do ? I have tryed to push it when I have been pedaling the engine over and it doe not do anything. I was thinking it was a kill switch but its still getting a good spark ?

Yep its a kill switch.... depends what year engine you have. Some didnt have a cutout switch and you had to decompress them to stop (like mine) But I wired a simple cut out into it...
All it did was earth the LT side of the coil...
So if you run a wire from the condensor or points, Up to the pin that switch touches, It should kill the spark when pressed.
You might allready have the wiring in place for it though. How many wires do you have coming from the magneto? Mine had just yellow and a green/black wires.. (2 wires) and a white wire from the headlight switch to the rear light.
I added one red wire for the cutout. Using the standard connector block and connected it to the condensor .
