Can always ask her for a cheeky stocking filler I was going to fit it next week but I think the white stuff is coming so I'll leave it till Jan. The ITG filter & 4"-3" silicone reducer turned up this week...it's mahoosive Will fit it same time as the tubular...I should really go for a 4" intake now to get the best out of it so it'll be 4" all the way through instead of 4"(filter outlet)>3"(intake pipe)>4"(turbo inlet) ....not sure if it's worth the money though. Also found out these bhp ratings from ITG are for N/A cars and don't really apply to turbocharged cars! Never mind.

New filter fitted today. Bit of a pita to get the old one off as there's only a few mm clearance to get a spanner on the jubilee clip and pull the thing off. Putting the new one on took two of us (me & missis griffin!!) her job was to push the intake pipe down a few mm so I could get the new bloody silicone reducer on there! Pics... JC60/99 ITG Maxogen Filter, 4" inlet and around a 5.5" foam filter!! Bought this thinking I needed the large one for 3 520bhp but it's only relevant to N/A cars! So a smaller one would have done the job...but it's on there now! And with the 4"-3" reducer: Fitted...around a 2mm gap!! Intake pipe is now lying ontop of the delivery pipe since fitting the larger IC back in August!! Had to adjust the delivery pipe a bit to just squeeze the filter onto the intake. Filter buried in the wing, would be miles easier to have it in the engine bay for easy access but it's nice & cold in the wing!! Verdict on the filter is it's a slightly different sound to the Blitz one I've just took off. The blitz gave more of a 'baaarrrp' noise but this sounds more like a jumbo on take off! Car feels a bit more responsive too so bonus! 60 quid well spent.

Also starting to get my head into the remaping side of things. Not going very well at the moment!! All the hardwares been bought & connected up but after 2 days trying...still no joy getting the computer to talk to the car Black art this stuff Ecu opened up and connected to the CombiAdapter: Parts I've got for this are the CombiAdapter (pictured a few posts above) which I've now fitted into a type8 video case and taped up. Zippo lighter & Stanley knife came in handy! Ribbon connector for bdm tuning and canbus cable connected to check it fits ok. The BDM is used for mapping the ecu off the car, canbus for in car mapping. Taped up to keep it closed when in car mapping! I'm not gonna BS and say I know what I'm doing here as it's all new to me & driving me barmy at the moment hopefully should be all sorted tomorrow morning if I get the combiadapters drivers to work! (got a box of matches waiting to burn the laptop by now) Plan here is to hopefully sort out my lumpy idle and constant stalling on cold starts. As the cars fitted with the dreaded TCS it could be this causing it or the 630cc injectors as they can have some problems or the cams or something else! We'll see! Mapping side.... I'm not going to even attempt yet! Just want to log everything and send them to my tuner and see what he thinks is going on. When I'm confident with it I'd like to add a bit more boost in 2nd as it's currently in base boost (1.1 bar) then really get cracking on the 3rd gears 60-100 performance by mapping it on 8-10% thinners and Vpower. 4th gear is just loopy above 100 so happy with that but wouldn't complain with a bit more oomph! 5th gear I haven't really pushed yet tbh. Aim is to get the 60-100 below 3.5 secs. Should be possible as it's 3.8 now and still missing 0.3 bar boost...plus the tubulars yet to be fitted. 0-60 I cant seeing it getting much quicker than its 5 secs being fwd but would like to bring the 0-100 down a bit from 10 to 9 seconds without killing another gearbox! (all this is in the dry....damp or wet roads its all over the place) Then it's off to the strip and get the 1/4 mile timed So!! with the extra 0.3 bar boost, big tubular and live mapping the nuts off it on thinners! I'm hoping for a bit over 500bhp....we'll see!

Cars now being broken for spares. Just too expensive to get it mint again and the next stage of mods was major money...so it's gone. Last pic; Been replaced with another Saab, this time a 2000 9-3 SE Sport Convertible. Has the stronger B204 engine compared to the later B205 so still good for 500bhp if needed! But will keep this around 350 with a hybrid turbo. 9000 & 9-3 Will miss the 9000, been a great motor but this 9-3 is much nicer to drive, feels like a new car compared to the 9k which was getting a bit tatty in the last year. Luckily most of the engine parts will go straight on the new one, handlings getting sorted first as they're not that great standard, then a nice sound system, stage 1 remap, enjoy it over the summer...and then straight to stage 5 with the old bits, new DP, tubular and Hybrid TD04. Should feel pretty quick with the roof down! So....onwards!

Maybe I'm biased, but I much much much prefer the look of a 9k, looks much more like a nutter fast saloon, where as to me the 9-3 looks bloated. I get the point about the feel of it though. Just a shame the car that has most influenced my interest in Saabs and my own 9k is now deceased, and you're not closer/I'm not rich enough to grab some bargains off it. Good luck in your new direction, I'll still be following closely

Thanks mate! Yeah I'm feeling a bit gutted about it :(Put a lot of time & money into it but the poor thing was just falling appart, maybe if I'd bought one in better condition to start with I'd have kept it but hey ho! I know what you mean about the bloated looks! Also feels a bigger car to drive, especially parking. Is a much nicer place to be sat in though, doesn't feel as solid as the 9k (built like a brick curse word house as you know!!) but the 9-3 feels more refined, bit more modern and is nicer to drive. Hard to believe its only 5 years younger!! Missing the performance though 60-100 in this takes 9.5 secs compared to the 9k's ballistic 3.8 ....that's getting sorted next month!!

I've just seen your new thread on UKS and the 60-100, must feel like some difference to you! Probably a little quicker than my standard 9k. Really must get the clutch replaced and the stage 1 in! I've changed my mind and reserve my judgement on your 9-3 though, until you have a play with it. The wheels really do it no favours as you know I also saw some pics of your 9ks rot and understand where you're coming from looked pretty bad. Could you not have reshelled? Although I suppose more effort, time and money than it's probably worth and not much use if you felt it was time for a change. My dads got what is becoming a husk of a 9k on his drive you probably could have had for zilch but it's got a couple of dents, and needs a new door and a paint job. Bit of a trek too

I might have an uprated Sachs Clutch with Aero friction disc for sale, need to check it over but it's had limited use in 1.5 years...probably done around 6,000 miles tops! Might have a couple small go faster bits for sale too...need to check what's still there! Wheels are defo available

Did think about a reshell but finding a mint black one, Anni if possible! Was hard. Was going to either spray or wrap this in black, but the rust needed sorting...so was expensive. Then thought about leaving it but upping the power another couple hundred bhp...was close to doing this and had a plan figured out! But will still be a rusty car! I know when I'm beat and enough is enough!
350bhp in this new one should be fun though! Want it as quick as pos between 20-100. Not bothered about 100+ anymore...roof will probably come off!

I'm interested in the clutch, how much are you looking for? Take it I'll need an Aero flywheel too? PM me if you like, here or UKS. Only other things I can think of that I want in the near future are 3" cat-back exhaust, piggy back ARB, front strut brace, T7 conversion and Super Aeros. Money will limit that lot though.
All my other jobs are boring, like stop the heater fan squeaking, fix the heated seats etc.

Have you started a thread for the convertible yet? Not on here mate as I think its a bit too modern and I'll get shouted at Build thread here though on UKSaabs: uksaabs.co.uk/UKS/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=90081I've done quite a bit with it but mostly on the music side with a decent system and sorting the suspension with new bushes, dampers and various braces (it needed it!!) Performance wise I've just taken it to stage 1 for now with a remap so roughly 220bhp which feels miles quicker than standard! I've got everything bar a bigger IC, uprated clutch and 3" DP sat in the garage to be fitted. Hoping for around 400-450bhp on this one with this other GT30, wont be as quick as my 9k but not that much slower.
