I believe that some fellow RR's (dom? are using the diffs from the Piazza turbo. Things I am trying to establish include -track width -diff ratio -PCD -do they come with rear brake disks or is it a drum set up? - what sort of torque can they handle? - what are the diff hangers/brackets like on these? Anyone got pictures of a complete bare axle, please PM me or host them Oh, has anyone got 1 for sale cheers

A Celica or Scimitar axle might be worth a look, both have 4.5" (114.3mm) PCD and were available with LSDs.

Not sure on diff ratio PCD is 4x100 Rear discs Not sure on torque but 250bhp/250lb ft should be okay. 5 Linked axle. 4 forward links and a panhard rod. I will try and get some pictures of my spare one.

The 'T' series axle was fitted to all 1st and 2nd generation Celica's The RA/TA60 (3rd gen) used the T series and later an IRS setup. GT Celica's came with an LSD's as standard They are 5 bar linked, and as rmad said 114.3 PCD Drum brakes only though. I can get some dimensions if needed (though I'm away for a few days) The T series was also used on the AE86 (in most markets anyway, including the UK) the trailing arm mountings are different to the Celica, as is the nose. The AE86 also got discs on the T series axle, and is obviously well supported if you want a decent aftermarket diff (Cusco/Kazz) Get a later >85 if you can though, as the drive shafts are thicker Not sure how much power they will take, but I've got one sat behind the V8, and the drift boys give them some serious abuse. I do know of a guy with a few RA40 GT 'T' series axles for sale. Wanted £200 each last time I saw him. PM me if you want his details.

Hey I wonder if that axle is my old one? I sawed through the cast-iron lower arms too when i removed it cos the bushes had perished to hell and I couldn't get the bolts out of their inner sleeves. The listing has disappeared now so I can't check, I sold mine to the underbidder after the winner faffed about too much (he still negged us like!!!) bought for £25, sold for £300, CASHBACK!!!

Also, how are the spring perches located on the axle casing? I mean do the springs sit on a separate perch and the shocks separately mounted, or do both the spring & shocks sit on the same mounts? Has anyone used these for applications pushing out 220-250BHP & 250lb/ft of torque? ;D I don't twant to invest in one only to find that they can not cope with that level of grunt

If you look at the above pic of the Ebay axle, the 'frying pan' things dangling from it are the lower arms, sawn off, and the springs sit on these in the PIazza. So the axle itself has nothing for locating the springs. The dampers connect straight onto the brackets which join these lower arms to the axle, you can see in Nightmares' pic.

Mr B, thanks for confirming my suspicions. The spring seats are very awkwardly located for my application. As for the dampers, there could be hope if i go for coilovers?
