After aquiring alistairK's old Vauxhall Midi van (formerly of the Cappuccinocruiser collection) I started thinking about a slam job and maybe a wheel change ;D If I wanted to fit lower profile tyres- Would they have to be of a certain rating for the weight of the van? Or can I stick on any old lower profile tyre? Found that there are a couple of 4x4's with the same PCD, just doing some research (sorry for the slightly dull thread) Cheers all!

only got experience of T25 and TBH as long as you aint lugging building materials all the time you'll probably be fine. T25 is same as Merc and they're can't be much in the weight difference.

the weight of the van wont be a problem for normal car tyres i wouldnt of thought as long as your not using the van for carrying a lot of weight....
i'm pretty sure it doesnt have to have van (reinforced) tyres on.

You can get reasonably priced low profile van rubber too, due to the rising popularity of SUV's, Soft Roaders and Hi Po People carriers

Whats the PCD on the van? I never checked. I'm guessing 5x4.5" as its based on some form of Japaneze (Isuzu?) Chassis. Should be a good selection of rims in that fitment.
The guys are right, you only need van tyres if you're going to carry weight really. My Oldsmobile must weigh twice what the van does (unladen) and that runs regular passenger car tyres.
Make sure you leave enough suspension movement for that comedy sensation of bobbing up and down though!

Not sure what the PCD is, but i'm hearing Toyota hi-lux, Vauxhall frontera and possibly the Mitsi Shogun have the same PCD, which gives quite a bit of choice!
Yep your right Dave they are 6 stud.

Them Mitsi Delica things are 6-stud. Dunno what PCD is but they have some fairly tuff-looking rims on them

Frontera, trooper, Pajero, Shogun Sport, L200, Delica and HiLux are all the same 6 bolt pattern. Trooper, Monterey, Frontera, Isuzu MU, Vauxhall Brava and the old Honda Jazz 4x4 are same running gear generally. Pajero, Delica, Shogun Sport and L200 are all more or less the same running gear.
