Right, a bit of background as to what I'm trying to achieve on my mk2 Polo.
Basically I'm trying to extend the depth of the number plate mounting part of the front bumper by approx 50mm to cover my intercooler. (Number plate to be moved).
The bumper plastic is about 4mm thick, soft to drill/cut and hence fairly flexible. It is also flat in form where I'm joining it.
I've cut an appropiate 50mm deep section from another bumper to do this but I need to make a strong butt joint between the two pieces.
The resulting bigger area will be covered in 1.5mm thick plastic to hide and reinforce the joint. Then I'll be peppering it with a holesaw!
So... I'm thinking Stickaflex. Trouble is there are several ones to choose from and I also need it to not only stick but blend the joint at the outside edges which will be on show. Obviously I don't want it cracking on these edges but it does need to allow for flex and movement.
Sorry to ramble on, just trying to give as much info as possible. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Richard.
