I really doubt you'd get a Classic Car insurance from anyone at 17y/o....most seem to think 25 is a good age to hand these out. Could you get one through a parent and pay them to have you put on it?

Yeah I've been able to insure 100E's, Mk1 Escorts and Mk1 Cortinas at that age so it must just be a matter of finding the right insurer. CIC, Footman james, Sureterm and Adrian Flux all do young drivers and still list those cars. Beware with CIC that they are cheaper if you modify!
Another idea is to buy a knackered junk yard 50cc moped and insure that for £150 third party only, then insure the car as a "second" vehicle. You'll usually find the difference way outweighs the £150 for the scooter.

Norwich Union, did me - it's gonna be expensive for your first year, regardless - and most classic policies don't let you accumulate NCB at our ages (if ever) so you get shot in the foot anyway. Mine was 1800 quid for my first year, 17, 0NCB, no passplus (didn't do it, stands for nothing in my eyes), dropped to 500 quid the second year with 1 years NCB. Now pretty much anything is 400 quid to insure (2 years, coming on 3 NCB). Rover 3.5's, Jags, any Triumph

Aye nonstandard alloys added 200 quid to that price (it's usually 12% of your quote or summat extra per mod) Passplus will knock, or used to, ~30% off ya quote

Skoda? wont find many up near you though.
insurance isnt that cheap either. if you want solely cheap insurance then you need to buy a corsa or something equally dull.
talking about 50cc bikes, the insurance for my MZ Simson with commuiting on the insurance is £200. thats at 16, and its my own policy. hopefully, if i can find the right insurance co and i don't claim, i'll have a years N.C. at 17 ;D

Yea, was the Sprint alloys.
Considering me mates were paying 1300/1500 quid on Corsas, the extra 100/300 quid seemed well worth it.
Especially on the bypass.
Huzzah ;D

If money is an issue, I'd get anything if i were you, 1 litre machineeg Polo, Metro, Micra, J, if you really fancy rwd id go for a chevette/starlet/4dr escort/etc! Ring as many companies as you can, spend all day on the phone/net, pass plus is good advice. some companies still ask me if i have it 11 years into my driving career!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Try an online Norwich union quote for a variety of Dolomites then, just to give you a ballpark Can work out the PP discount from there, afterwards. Always been excellent for me
