no dimensions sorry mark, but I know the old street machine project cresta was powered by a nissan straight six? - rwd, manual or auto options, strong, reliable, sound nice - chevy stovebolt to *really* upset people ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar,
nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey
not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails,
not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman

Why is there a lady in the volvo picture?
That volvo engine is the pic of the bunch posted, the others are iron block and old hat (no offence MrBstardchild).
And you get that lovely straight six howl too.

J I can't see a lady in the pic the volvo lump is what I would like to get in there but will depend on cost though they seem to be fairly cheap for a whole car at the moment if the 6 turns out to be to long then I will consider the 5 cylinder version but that will mean having to source a box separately as the 850s are wrong wheel drive

Got some rough dimensions just now in the garage. (all in mm)
Back of block to front of cam pulleys - 660 (add another 60mm for crank pulley) Top of cam cover to bottom of front part of sump (shallow end) - 530 Top of cam cover to bottom of oil filter - 600* Top of cam cover to bottom of deepest part of sump - 680 (mine has been chopped though, I think I took off a good inch) Width of engine - 280 (minus inlet plenum and exhaust)
I forgot to measure how far back the deep part of the sump begins, can do that if you want along with any specific measurements you're after.
* oil filter is at the front right corner of the engine when looking it at from the front of the car. On early engines it's vertical, on later engines it sticks out 90 degrees to the right. I used an early sump to clear a chassis rail.

Wth ref to this ![](http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/640/4441/26599720043_large.jpg) Don't have any measurements i'm affraid but the c30se 24v engine from a carlton has a front drop sump as standard Its a big alloy affair that has braces at the rear that bolt to the gearbox aswell This is a side view (front at left) The middle was cut out for clearance when fitting it into a manta (about 1" cut from left side and sloping across top) ![](http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mantasport/mantasport/pics/shauns/c601otl%20(47).jpg) So that may not work for you.

I'll measure the XJR lump if I get the chance. That'd be fun in something a fair bit lighter.
