Same. Definitely going for an 80s look. Too many of these W124s have been modded 20 years on, and the mods available in the 80s were just so much more fitting.
Who remembers glue-on reflector trips between the tail lights? I'd be having some of that but I'm putting smoked lights on, and they seldom appear smoked.

i love em... was gonna put some on my mk1 polo. 70'S it up haha... had a set for my bug but didnt suit the overall look so sold it on.
Pretty cheap at autojumbles as no-one in the normal classic car world wants them. Its just us types haha

This might be a daft question, but I always wondered how louvres fitted. Are they just glued on to the glass?
I reckon the mods listed for the Merc are a go too, would be awesome, especially in that blue.

On the Saab there is a clip kit and it somehow attaches to the window..? I'm guessing under the seal or something

I used to have a Skoda Rapid one and it had clips to go under the window seal as well.
Never did fit it, sold it to malta!

I'd probably have to Tiger Seal it to the Merc glass, but I think cars that were fitted with dealer options have mounting points. I wish I could put the image I have of what the Merc will look like onto a media, my photoshopping skills are less than curse word, but I know exactly what I want. You would not believe where my inspiration came from.. |

My 1990 Pintara TR.X came with a rear window louver. It was dealer fitted and it has little brackets all the way round which stick to the glass with double-sided tape. The brackets attach to the louver with plastic screws which fasten with a quarter-turn.

Autoplas louvres are so cool, and so Eighties! The W124 would look great with one, maybe with a Zender bodykit on to complete the look?!  |
