Saw this poor neglected SVX on fleabay while looking for a cheap auto for my sister - local scrotes have nicked and torched her '92 clio ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ![](http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz201/A-Machine/Randoms/SVX.png) I'd love it myself but I need to sell my scooby, not find it a friend, so I thought I'd post here and hopefully see it rescued from the field it currently calls home... More info in the listing: cgi.ebay.co.uk/1992-SUBARU-SILVER-/290545881164?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item43a5e2504c#ht_500wt_928Still looking for a small auto with T&T in the Cumbria area if anyone can help ;D

That was my first thought too! I really like these weird cars, but I did read somewhere that parts were either unobtainium or cost the equivalent of the GDP of a small African nation. I've got to wonder whether an expensive / NLA part or two is what has led to this car being off the road for 4 years.

I hadn't considered parts of unobtanium, the possibility that it has been in that gateway rusting from the bottom up for 4 years was bad enough...

hmm, most parts are still availible for these either from here or the states but can be costly
its gonna be the fact its been stood for so long thats killed it,i would hate to lift that bonnet and see all the cobwebs, corroded pipework (of which theres a lot of) perished rubber etc....thats before youve even touched the brakes and the underside and not to mention the very complex electricals on these which looking at the condensation on the inside of the windows will probably be very damp too, most subarus due to the framless windows have a habit of filling up with water, even when being used!

Great cars, but the automatic transmissions in them are made out of cardboard and chewing gum, and also priced like they are cast out of silver. Of course, manual swaps have been done and then that's ALL cured ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

My boss used to have one of these from new - it was a scrote magnet and was stolen off his drive twice (once while he was having a BBQ in his back garden). He gave chase, jumping garden fences to get at them (I wish I had been there to see it ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) ) He got an average of 15MPG but it was as hairy as hell. 3.3 litre engine, if memory serves. Wow. That's what I'd drive if I was from the future. Seems a bit pricey for what is undoubtedly going to be very painful, time consuming and expensive; this seems a bit more like it: www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=162&i=19839

Hmm... no pics of the engine bay. I'm not even a tiny bit curious how a car like that came to be abandoned on a bit of grass for years before someone decided to list it on eBay.

I remember seeing one of these at the junkyard right after the cash for clunkers program started. There was not a scratch on the body and not a tear in the interior. It looked showroom fresh! Yet it's drive train had been destroyed according to the programs rules. :/
