grabbed this off another forum I visit:
I think the spec sounds fun.
EDIT: is it just me - the photo doesn't seem to be working on here?
I nipped round to see my frinds with the Impala drag car as I've not actually seen it in the flesh since they finished it. Its looking damn nice in the flesh as they've just had the front airbrushed so it looks like it has a grille, the guy even put a tiny reflection of the christmass tree lights and the Pod gantry in the headlights! Oh and it pulled an 8.80 second pass last weekend on its second outing.
They had a new car in their garage renting some space. Its a 1930's Chevrolet four door sedan painted up as a taxi. Its actually a car from the forthcoming Captain America film which has just finished shooting over here, its even got a bullet hole in the back window and a special fly-off hydraulic handbrake on the dash as it was a stunt car (bet he'd not declared that little mod!) Has a new 350ci (5.7L) V8 under the hood and modern running gear so it goes well too. You can see it in the clip below of them filming in Manchester, its the yellow and Maroon taxi that takes off down the road. Thats the actual car. Kinda cool! They auctioned all the cars off last week, some were running, some just shells that were used as stationary props. they made four taxis like that, two were destroyed during filming and this was the best of the two left.
