Excellent. Is Erik Carlsson the same Carlsson as the hot Saabs were named after?

Yes, as far as I know. Saab 95 too! Something to do with four speed 'boxes being fitted to the estates before the saloons I think so that for the Monte in '61 (and maybe a couple of other rallies?) it was better for them to use the estate.

Eric Carlsson aka "Pa Tarket" (can't do the funny characters on this keyboard) lit: "On the Roof" was his nickname lol! I had the pleasure of meeting him as a small child in Oman when he was sent out a spokesperson for Saab after the Omani police bought a fleet of saab 900 turbo sedan cars as cop cars. He gave an impressive driving demonstration for them which my dad photographed (we still have them all on slides) where he drives the 900 over a stinger with his hands in the air to show how stable it is when the tyres blow Got any of the original stig? (Stig Blomqvist - another saab rally supremo) Kirsty

Erik "On the Roof" Carlsson, one of my favourite motorsport images ever My dad met him once when delivering some building materials to the Moss family farm where he and Pat lived. Dad had no idea who he was though and assumed he was some sort of farm hand until he looked at the delivery note and read where it had been signed "E. Carlsson"... ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.
