I've been lurking on there and will join, seem very knowledgable. I will most likely join the P6 club as well when I've got a bit of spare cash. Very productive day today. Checked over the choke cable and lubed it up, it doesn't go fully in to the dash and the light doesn't go out so I was concerned it was running on choke all the time but we've been through it and it wasn't, it does go all the way in at the engine, just not on the dash. The centre console and lower dash weren't at all properly secured and we sorted that out. Previous owner had changed the carpets and looks like he got bored once the dash was back in and forgot about 75% of the screws but all the ones we found are back in. Connected up one of the linkages for the air direction in the cabin too so all that's working too now. Then on to the boot. It was looking pretty sorry so went at with a wire brush, slapped a load of kurust on it and painted it: And got some MDF and some cheap carpet: While I was at it I carpet the rear shelf because it was a right old state. Also attached the wires properly for the parcel shelf speakers and hid the wire, before it was just hanging out on the shelf. No pic of speakers as it was getting dark but looks much better now. And then I noticed my steering wheel badge was hanging off so I stuck this on there for fun until I can cut out some vinyl to replace the other.

My P6 has them as well as one door mirror. I'm intending on swapping them around, as one of them goes quite far out, and one of them points almost straight up. They don't adjust, and I'm positive that if I swap them around I'll actually be able to see something out of the left one, because at the moment I can't see ****! I'm too short! All I can really see in the right one is the door mirror! To adjust you undo the chrome nut that actually holds the mirror head to the stem. You will then find it's a ball mount and you can move the head for best position before retightening the nut. Sorry, I worded it poorly. The mirrors adjust on the stems, but the stems are quite different. One is probably 80 degrees and one is more like 45 degrees. All the stems do is wobble about on rubber mountings, not adjust. So I figure if I swap them left to right I will have the taller mirror on the left and maybe I'll be able to see it without sitting up out of my seat like a meerkat

Thanks I'm a bit scared to un-seal the webasto and see what's wrong with it, because I'm scared I won't be able to get it shut again. I've tried to find pictures/diagrams of what actually goes on in there before I do it, will carry on looking. With the weather being as it is, and will continue to be like for a while I'm pretty nervous to un-seal it but I'm fairly sure it's just been screwed down/in at the front. The guy I bought it from said it's mostly wood mechanism and my dad (kitchen fitter as one of his trades) should have 'no trouble', but.. you know, people say things.

Hello, I actually joined a very very long time ago when I briefly had a Dolomite Sprint, but unfortunately I was 19 and a lazy little scrote and didn't pass my driving test so it got sold (for £400!) to make room in the garage for my Dad's Lancia. I've regretted that sorely since, and last week hopefully rectified it by buying this: Has been apparently used as a daily driver by chappie I bought it from, and does seem to run pretty nice. It actually completely let me down on day one - would splutter and die, and then start back up. Once, it didn't turn over at all, so we opened the boot to jump it and one battery terminal was completely loose. We charged the battery and it went to charged almost straight away so I was doubtful it'd solve the issue but so far it does seem to have. The puddle under the front hasn't reappeared and the rad breather was very wet so I think it was freshly topped up before I picked it up. Leaks a small amount of oil but very little really. Will sort that at some point hopefully. Boot didn't shut properly as the lock was only zip tied in and had no key - today I had some keys cut from the lock, and made up a backing plate for it from a picture I found - all seems well and shuts and locks! Had to be locked in the boot to adjust it, which was a bit of a leap of faith as the boot doesn't go into the car as the fuel tank's in the way! It's secure, but there's a bit of play which I plan on removing tomorrow when it's light. I'm totally in love with it and have lots of plans for it - mostly a service, new ignition bits just for piece of mind, and starting to make the dashboard work properly as a lot of it either doesn't light up or doesn't work properly - oil pressue, rev counter, etc etc all not working. Starting on that tomorrow. Then sort the roof - either fix the sunroof which is currently broken and sealed shut, or find and fit a new roof as they bolt on and off. I also ordered some 3500S hubcaps which should be on their way soon. That's it really, will keep this updated as a log of the project hopefully.

Did this sell in the end? I presume it's been too long, but worth asking.
