I suppose it depends if it's condensation forming on the inside or damp coming in from the outside.
Tanking the inside won't cure condensation. You'd have to find a way of controlling the internal temperature (so it's the same as the outside) or adding additional ventilation.

With regards to the condensation and driving rain/moisture, have you considered insulating externally and cladding the external walls rather than tanking the inside walls?

Yeah, they'll run without the dash loom & clocks.
From memory the ECU takes two constant lives and one ignition live. Then you've got to supply the coils, injectors and O2 sensors with their own ignition live too.
That's all for a AP1 though. I'd imagine the AP2 is a little more complex.

I've got an AP1 and removed the immobiliser chip. I also bought a Doctronic chip too. Sadly, I've not attempted to run the engine since.
I've also got an emulator for the EGR which I can confirm clears the code on the ECM. It was from a chap in America. He was working on an air pump emulator aswell, but I never got round to testing one.
There's plenty of F20 engines in other vehicles but many run aftermarket ECU's. I can count on one hand the amount I've seen running the stock ECM, of which very little information exists on the internet on how they got around the various emission and immobiliser equipment.
I've "heard" snapping the immobiliser chip out and just not wiring up the EGR & airpump will allow the engine to run. However, I know for certain it will throw an engine check light. How it will run, I don't know.
Where abouts are you? I'm pretty handy with th S2000 wiring. I'd be happy to help with any questions you've got.

Really liking the conversion! It might influence me to get cracking with my Corolla.
Are you sticking with the AP2 fly-by-wire or converting to AP1 throttle cable?
I notice you're keeping the immobiliser and just taping the key to the barrel sensor. How are you getting round the EGR & airpump?

I've got this: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181172807071 I've had it two years and it's been given some abuse. It still wasn't low enough to go under my lowered golf but once under, it lifted it with confidence. Two complaints: Weight - it's ridiculously heavy Handle - the handle is held in place with quite a dainty screw. Mine has snapped and doesn't hold the handle in any more. This reduces the manoeuvrability, and combined with the weight, can make it quite troublesome.

The box you mention is probably a junction box. Grouping a number of earths, 12v or 5v wires together. If you're wanting to neaten the loom, there are a couple of options you could do. You could either run independent wires to each component and join them at the ECU connector. Like this: Or you could link the components in parallel at source with one wire going to the ECU. Sometimes this is done to make "sub looms" for things like injectors or coil packs. Then, if you want to neaten the loom further, you could look at concentric wiring. Here are a couple of decent websites: www.rbracing-rsr.com/wiring_ecu.htmlwww.rbracing-rsr.com/sq6wiringloom.htmlI'd limit the use of adhesive lined heat shrink to transitions and end plugs. It cures very hard and really doesn't allow any movement which is desirable on an engine loom. The go to product for Motorsport looms is Rachem DR-25, it's incredibly flexible and heat resistant.

You have to be careful with some of the more sensitive sensors (the ones you mention), any additional resistance or "noise" can interfere with their readings.
A lot of modern cars run earthed shielded cable to prevent this. I couldn't tell you if this is the case on your BMW loom, but if it is, they require one continuous run with no interruptions.
My Honda S2000 loom had seven shielded cables.
If I were you, I'd methodically remove one redundant wire at a time by disconnecting the terminal from the plug.
