OH has been asking about Steam days etc so opportunity came up this w/e for her and my folks to get to the Klondyke @ Drayton in the Clay, Staffs. i'll start with the obvious plenty of full sized ones there driving around the area along with these..every bit as cute and engineering marvels to boot 1/3 scale this one the owner turned down offers recently of 30 and 35k it weighs around a tonne and can pull up to 15t....I want one! field of tractors and this caravan small collection of various cars i can see now why these are nearly all turned into Rods, the proportions are just so right one for grumpynorthener, probably well known to him? Betsy another 2 for Grizz..... every bit ropey looking in real life as in pics along with this homemade fixed roof addition and finally a small selection of Bikes cyclemaster 32cc Sunbeam ??, yours for 8k this i would have loved to hear as well as this... well worth the £5 entry to see things working without electronics

not that i'd ever do anything remotely like that to anything i own but i was always of the thought that if a car is 'legal' in it's registered country and travelling within the EU and for visiting only then it's acceptable? 'legal' in UK is a debatable thing regards the above vehicles but hey ho...

Seller based in Pershore so probably one of his that was parked as an advertising board on bridge above M5. I also met some deluded 20 yr old with plans to drop a Ducati V twin into one. I'd lay odds he never did it!

without starting another thread i'll throw this in here.... OH met Phil and his wife yesterday in local gym, workouts for people who've had strokes. apparently he had one 3-4 yrs ago, Fuzz noticed him not looking too well and recognised the signs.

my Dad used to do all the signwriting at Wednesbury Motors years ago and whenever i was with him there was ALWAYS at least one Pilot/Convoy being pushed around the garage with engine / gearbox issues. gearbox was the same/similar to early Disco's? 400 rings a bell? however there are people out there who use them for trips i wouldn't even entertain in one.....middle of Spain 4-5 yrs ago, real ratty Convoy, usual faded Red, chugging along, braver than me! in the Summer at any channel port you're likely to see one, hand painted, ladders on the rear doors, steel panels where there were windows, stickers galore and most likely a pair of ermmmm, how to put it politely?...ex Hippies?
there is a worse van out there...Maxus, curse word thin panels that dent just looking at them!

I think that you posted this on the wrong forum. I think you were looking for Barry Boys or something. Please post something cool. too tame for BarryBoys? their 'genre' would be Magpie Barry, anything shiny throw it on.....

'scuse the quick Potatochop...... chop the sideboard somewhere near the end of lower panel? then a slot in board across the bed for storage as is and the back end 'pop' stylee? what you'd need ideally is an old rusty Acty cab/chassis as a donor for the panels to try out

Bl**dy Hell that was hot. So hot I couldn't"t be bothered to walk around the Club stands which was the plan this year. OH is walking slowly disabled so got parking behind stands opposite pits, did the display areas at top then down to bottom of Paddocks. B in L knows someone in the Ancient Commisionaires, very handy! basic bar....buy 10 tickets for 20euros = 10 drinks, beer or wine. Left the OH there with her sister and used her Paddock pass. Trotted back via the Ford Chicane tunnel back to car and thought 'f*** it's to the walk back down there. I also made a faux Pas re tickets.....Friday was other events, Chateau Rivesarthe and a BBQ, so planned Sat only, went up Friday to buy....you can buy Fri and Sun only tickets not Sat so w/e ticket only..whoops! Managed to sell the tickets to someone in our village who was going Sunday so recouped 40 euros from the 110 along with not buying a Paddock pass so not quite so bad. Lasting memory will be the Sunday evening at the Rose and CROWN at Le Luxe...... Obnoxious *wa* walks out after eating inside, complaining about no Aircon and conditions going back to the slave ships and then sits on flower bed trough, curse word enough to fall over otherwise, and starts ranting about the French organisation of the Classic. Apparently they Q'd for hours to get in circuit, usual boorish thing.. didn't read tickets for which entrance to use and the heat and Q"into nearly caused his "200-300k' cat to overheat. 😀 Also the Aircon at his Hotel wasn't working either! At this point I was told by OH to go and get drinks before I bit.....turns out he also told the bar stuff to F off over all sorts of things Inc taxi costs....'i don't f'ing care how much, just get me one"..turns out they came in a minibus and it was booked to pick them up! Happy days.
