I have got just about every set of wheels in last 6 years off of Facebook, the ones I just bought turned out to be someone from the same club I was in 15 years ago

Try and stay under 6.5" wide, I managed to get 16x6.5s on a lowered 205 Rallye with no arches - although I did have to tickle the car with a jack & grinder but you couldnt tell. These days though you have a much better selection of tyres so you maybe able to get away with a 7" wide wheel with a slightly stretched tyre. And yes, the clio wiper was a more sleek looking thing that pretty much just bolts straight on. My old 2 15x7 (195/50/15) 16x6.5 (195/45/16)

Nice one, can't believe someone actually bought something I suggested 😂
Looks great, very jealous as I miss having one!
Common mod back in the day (but probably very hard to find now) was a clio mk1/2 rear wiper arm

I like that it's been reported by the Metro. A metal pole for a gear lever - a long gearstick then and not an issue for the MOT. A winters morning makes for painful shifting. Also the tight seats! I'm not a wide person (32" waist) but I have found in my fiesta ST that I am on the limit of comfort on a Recaro seat. I kind of wish it had had a d*ldo gear stick for the added lolz

Still trying to figure out the starting and running issues on the mk2. If I unplug the map vacum hose from the plenum the idle improves and the massive hesitation vanishes, so we think it's overfuling. A quick look at the vac lines suggests it's all curse word.
Mustang has cost me £720 this month. Dropped Mrs's accounts off with the accountant, was parked for about 5 mins after a 12 mile drive & it wouldnt start. Factory fit battery is 56ah! managed to find a Yusa on offer for £83 (GSF 60% off last week) for a 65ah and it fits.
Took it round the block yesterday (about 1/2 mile) and whilst driving stright and not booting it, the back end decided it wanted to go faster than the front luckily it only kicked out about2-3ft. It currently has factory fit (just under 3y/o) PirelliP Zeros (regarded as curse word by most owners) on the front which are starting to crack and wanted replacing anyway & it has some budget acceleras on the rear which I assume the dealer fitted. These have been ok but are rated by everyone that tested them as cack. Black circles have 15% of Michelins today so £660 for a full set os PS4 including mobile fitting.
I think I prefer having curse word dailies that cost less than 2 tyres

This is my daily, in a normal sized space. If someone parks next to me I can't actually get in the car. It also doesn't fit in on the road spaces, with the wheels against the kerb the others are over the lines. It's an utter nightmare, I get car park anxiety.

As far as I understand, a handbrake has to have a locking button. I don't think a fly off handbrake is accetable.

Possibly, but they are one of the most simple cam belt changes anyway. So not really a lot to be gained chopping the old one down the middle I've never done one (as in any cambelt), so wasnt sure lol

Can you do cambelts on these the cheat way I ahve seen on the skid factory? Loosen the tensioner, slice half the belt out - slide new one half on, remove rest of old belt, push new one fully on and retension?

Take a magnet, if you can stick it to the block it's not a tu3s - if it doesnt then it has the lighter 85bhp XS engine, which isnt a bad thing! Just found this, should be same & might help identify what engine it has quicker www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/repair-206/206/info/gb/b1bb13k3.htmIf it is a 1.4 it needs to say TU3 somewhere on the block (TU1 is 1.1 & TU9 is 0.9 apparently)

I spoke to the seller of the 205, friendly chap, seems like an enthusiast (apparently he is rebuilding a sunbeam alpine). Going to go out and take a look this weekend. Definitely will need new fluids and a bit of TLC. He acquired it in 2013, it had been off the road a few years since, he changed the oil and did a few bits and pieces then, put it on blocks in his garage and left it for 7 years. Might try and knock a few quid off on account of the work needed, but it seems to be pretty cheap already. Quick query - as far as I can tell the 205 has the TU3 F2/K engine, 1,360 cc, 2-bbl carb (the seller confirmed it is not fuel injected anyway, these cars seem to have been fitted with endless varieties of engine according to wiki). Anything I need to know about starting/driving a carb engine? I am a bit young to remember them ... They have a choke, so when it's cold you will need to pull it out to get it started. Should have a single solex. The XS had a the double choke solex which gave it a bit more power. It can be luck of the drawer weather it had an alloy block tu3s or an iron block tu3. It's supposed to just be the xs that has the alloy block but as you say, so many variations of this engine in so many cars. It's a peppy engine though and people do/did tune the 1.4. one of the Citroen piccasos actually had a tu gearbox with xu internals so was a very strong box. At one point I could have told you the codes and ratio's 🤣

I know you said no, but.. StarletStarletYou could daily one of those without am issue. If you can get a rust free 3dr 205 under £2k you wont loose money & the 1.4 is a fun drive. Still loads of upgrades available too
