cheers, never mind your mate getting one, why don't you too lol
MOT, yeah I'm just going to keep taking it, its never really a worry when it only covers 500 max miles a year at the moment and I take it apart quite frequently so youd hope Id notice anything amiss!
Cheers Chris

well after finally fixing the clutch for this year I managed the imp national and Ginetta 60th bash in August. Ran great drove around 450-500miles in two weeks, ears are about recovered now!! Had a wedding on the Saturday of RRG so could only attend on Sunday in the modern with the family, great as usual. Sat here now pondering if thats it for the year and Is it save to start pulling it apart again making changes?!

Well it didnt sell and I'm busy with other things at the moment, took it to work the other day for the fun of it again, will just use it random days to keep it running while I decide what I end up doing with it.
Its going to sit around a lot over winter thats for sure, house and green ginetta will take priority.
This years retro rides was only visited on the Sunday without a classic, so next year this will probably tow the green one so I can bring both.
Question on Sierra rear springs if anyone knows? Whats the difference between the mk1 and mk2 ones? I need to work out what rear end mine has so I can replace the rear springs with std versions to help lift the back a little. Also is there a difference between 4door/cosworth/estate?
Cheers!

Not bad paint is terrible not many companies will touch it either you want to talk to strada then on here he posted on the last page (seems he's changed his name actually) but was recommending paint start etc and offering to paint. after talking to him I'm going to let him take it on around September, I'm realistic how good it can actually get escpically with my budget and he seems willing to work on it. got this, checked it over a few cracks and things bit messy but sort the cracks out then flocking will cover all that jazz! will be interesting to see it fitted!

usual evening ponderings.
still saving up for what would be the impending respray.
still waiting on the dash to arrive. thanks my Hermes.
but also all the other cars I've promised myself over the years, like a boxster.
so of anyone is remotely interested in a one of a kind g26 I would move it on as is. around £2/2.2k.
I've found a cheap oldest running boxster project which I could happily buy tomorrow.

The G26/G28/G30/G31 are all roughly the same car, just two have shorter rears and two have different fronts. The one you would like is the G30 then I think? G26 - Long bum - Flip up lights G28 - Short bum - 205 lights G30 - Long bum - 205 Lights G31 - Short bum - Flip lights All catered for but the G26 was the original saloon and out the longest before canning the range so did sell the most, around 200+ or so sold

Morning all, looking for the dimensions of the 205 sunroof, the hole needed in the roof and the overall length of the sliders on the roof please?
Hopefully a nice solution for my Ginetta G26!
Thanks chris

Old adverts like that are cool to see So got a sierra dash coming to me £55 with the postage, all complete minus the clocks and radio, its the hooded style over the clocks which I don't care, once flocked it should look better than the cortina one in the car. Have a direction to go with the paint now too but a few things first! SUNROOF. I want one that can go up and over (spoiler sunroof I believe they're known as) it cant slide back inside the roof as theres a metal bar that runs across the roof side to side centrally. Anyone know what std factory fit sunroofs, electric or mechanical move up and over? Spoiler for the boot. Retro rides camping then itll be off the road until all the work is completed again! Itll get there eventually!

Well to stop you all guessing and worrying lol. it made it back, packed lighter etc and no bottoming out along the way. very impressed over 1200 miles covered over the weekend and took it to work on Tuesday for the fun of it. the g31 shows the type of wheels I want. I think since it's performed so well I'm feeling impressed enough to explore the paint possibility of it and also drop in a silver top zetec to really modernise it. ordered a Sierra dash too which I will get flocked black. but all this will happen next year, it'll probably sit in the retro rides camping ground this August, then stored away somewhere until funds allow!

it's nearly the end of our Lemans Ginetta adventure. the train caused bent rear frame side mounting on the chassis, amazingly the little tab isn't even triangulated to begin with so I know what to do to initially improve! but for now the cars got new bolts on the mounting and all solid again. going to try and pack stuff in other cars and leave the boot empty! let's hope the car makes the journey home fine. I'm already mega impressed what it dealt with on the way.... just looks aweful, I want the body to be painted mg nightfire red just don't/can't pay for it and no personal time so will more than likely be chucked under a cover or a council garage somewhere far from home until the time and year comes to us!

we made it! dragged it's everywhere catching the road don't want to look under it to be honest!! will find some camping spring assistors to get home, pumped tires up and clicked the rear shocks to firm! even got completely stuck on the train where we had to lift it up and over the joins! no oil or water usage and drove it like a modern car 80 all the way only stopping for fuel.
