How much pressure do you actually need and how much pressure is it actually producing?
Sometime uprated pumps produce too much flow for the stock relief valves so you end up with excessive system pressure when demand is low, which is most of the time. This generates excess heat and kills pumps prematurely.

Also meant to say (seems I’ve lost my editing rights?), does it actually feel like a clutch pedal to your foot - ie can you feel it going over-centre about mid-travel? It’s not unknown for the friction plate to rust to the flywheel ion vehicles left standing….

Girling or Lockheed hydraulics?
Girling are typically pretty easy to bleed and generally fairly obliging. Lockheed….. not so much. The Lockheed clutch hydraulics on my 2.5PI sorely tried my patience on several occasions.

I’ve been using Falken lately (SN832 in 175/70R13 on the Triumphs which just astonishing good in the wet) and recently put a pair of 205/60 R15 Sincerra SN110s on the front of the A6 which I’m also happy with.

Also consider that same engine is used in Fiestas, Foci and Fusion TDCIs (both 1.4 and 1.6) and I was seeing a fair bit of positive comment when looking at remapping a 1.4 Fiesta.

Will be 1/4” UNF I reckon. They are similar enough that you can fit a 1/4” UNF nut on an M6 bolt (bit slack) but not the other way around.

Nice work!
Bit of dry walking and you’ll be itching to get back to it.😛

I'm actually sad that the chances of me ever seeing this in person are so slim. Incredible work. Hmm. Just another good reason to go to NZ 🙂 What a great update. Feels like it’s getting close now. Exciting! I was was especially tickled by your Nissan battery assistant. Good idea. Must confess I’ve always stuck with the MS defaults for injector dead times. Usually pressure test my fuel rails with compressed air and water bath. Our actual bath tub the first one I did. It leaked. A lot. Anyway, crack on. Looking forward to seeing it in and running.

Been seeing this in the Yeovil area for years but this is the first time I’ve been on foot with a camera… Nice. I also regularly see a white Capri Mk3 on the A37 just south of Yeovil.

🙂 Ah……🤫yeah…. Fair cop. Though as it turns out (and I wasn’t going to tell you this), by a strange quirk of fate, the actual example in the pictures has an LS in the front…. Dirty cheat I know 🤷♂️

Looks like an ordinary IEC 90 frame motor with B5 flange. Can’t see if it has the usual IEC keyed shaft but seems probable.
When checking out the single phase option note that the need the capacitor start, capacitor run variety which have the better starting torque rating. These are not the cheaper ones. Shouldn’t be very much bigger, though they tend to have very high terminal boxes to accommodate the capacitors.

Um, probably.
You’ll need to arrange the links in the motor terminal box for 220v (delta) there’s likely a sticker in the lid showing it.
As for the inverter, the challenge will be getting enough current for the starting torque. Going up a size with te largest possible overload capacity is the way to go (2.2 or even 3kW for the 1.5 kW motor at least 150% overload). There’ll likely be some witchcraft involved in the inverter set up too but I reckon it should be possible to make it work.
