Not really sure how else to describe it but that seems as close as I can get.... Putting Woody back together and find myself in need of a little 'restoration' advice The heater controls have the legend imprinted on a plastic cover with the words recessed in from the back. Like this. Mine are very faded and half missing. I would imagine that there is a super intelligent way to do this but all my dumb brain is coming up with is a modelling brush and some white paint... If that is the way to do I will probably leave as is, my patience for this sort of thing is negligible at best and it will look as if somebody did it with a bucket of emulsion and a roller... Let's hear how the more intelligent members have solved this challenge. Over to you. P.

Thanks for the tip blackpopracing! Their site is not the most user friendly so will give them a ring on Monday. Ta. P.

Apologies for the late reply all and thanks calecosse for the offer. Ended up getting a 100mm length of 20mm round stock and made a jig to drill it. Not perfect but close enough! P.

Need a little advice here chaps. Woody has been converted from rod based clutch control to a hydraulic system to match the new gearbox set up. Challenge is that the only place that I can fit the master cylinder dictates that there will need to be a 60mm spacer from the pedal to the MC rod. If I had a lathe etc..but I don't. any ideas where I can get a drilled bit of bar stock so that I can make uo the spacer? Done the usual search online but not really found what I am looking for. Thanks, P.

There is a Scottish chap on YouTube who did exactly this - results can be seen here. I have had an 8KW heater in my two car draughty garage and have found that it puts out enough heat to keep it at a rather pleasant temperature. Yes, could get more out of it but TBH it works well enough without. Uses about 5 litres running flat out in about 16-20 hours ish. I do have an old radiator that I have been looking at to pipe the exhaust through though..... P.

You mean, “how big is your money pit?”…. It’s a “reasonable” size with one hell of a back story, involving film directors, Hollywood stars and a women scorned. The challenge I face is that the amount of cash required to repair rather than maintain is beyond my means at this time which is why I enjoy your own and the RAF house story’s. Gives me hope! P.

Until you have actually owned an air cooled 911 you really will not get what all the fuss is about. Looking forward to the next update. P.

Sort of forgot to finish this story. Screen ordered from Sharpes, will be here early Jan. Have to thank Dez for the recommendation as Richard was great to work with and it was around £100 cheaper than I could find anywhere else. Case closed. P.

I nearly went to an auto after spending a day getting my bell housing within spec. At 0.006“ I would be tempted to call that good….. P.

I have just invested in one of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394077090877Really happy with it - a lot of the comments about checking this and checking that before use - noisy pump etc I have not experienced. Over engineered some brackets and fixed it to the wall This unit actually came with a hole saw, would have been useful if my garage was not double walled brick but a nice touch. My exhaust exits out at an angle and during the initial fire up, after the 'new' smell had burnt off no issues at all. Out put is supposedly 8kw so not enough to heat my garage but in conjunction with a torpedo heater to get it up to temperature, holds my uninsulated, slightly draughty, garage at around 18c. Next step is to get a 12v transformer, install some proper piping to get etc heat into the centre of the garage and then enjoy. So, in conclusion. Worth the money. P.

Good news is that the screen surround on Woody is completely rot free. Bad news is that I cracked my screen making this discovery….. So…. Does anybody have a front screen for a 66 C10? Long shot I know but if you don’t ask….. P.
