I'm a sucker for lights and gauges. So, I've been collecting various pieces to put together a pair of period correct-ish front fog lights. The heat was fighting me, so it was time for a relatively straightforward sub-project. An original NOS single lamp in a bog with an yellow lens I didn't want to use, and some amber glass paint. Among the motley selection of bits and bobs, a matching pair of lenses. But the colours aren't matched. So, take the amber glass paint and a cheap airbrush and start to get them closer in tone. That worked well, so I went a couple more coats to get them both a little darker. Very happy with that. Connect up a battery pack and they even work. The brackets are still a work in progress, but I wanted something that would bolt on behind behind the grille, rather that drill the bumper or whatever. Thanks for looking.

I bought theses a couple of years ago to move my Morris Oxford around the garage and drive. I've now upgraded to a go-jack style, so these are up for grabs. They'll take 450kg per wheel and take tyres up to 360mm wide Pushing the car from my drive way over the small lip into the garage didn't work two well, and a couple took a whack. So I've welded a reinforcement bar onto two of them, They work fine in the garage, but with my car on the bumpstops is so low, it is difficult to get a jack under to get it under the dollies - hence the upgrade. Social distanced collection from my garden in Whiteley Hampshire Sorry I'm not interesting in posting or working with couriers - collection only. Thanks for looking

I've had my Volvo estate for a year now, and seeing this for just £800 - it will make somebody very happy. The old buses kinda grow on you. They are like a favourite pair of jeans/boots - after a while you cannot image life without out them.

Indeed as promised/threatened, I did manage to get some colour on the inside of the door I did the grey first and moved it to bake in the sun for a few hours. Then shot some maroon. Apologies for not painting the center of the door panel. I didn't want to strip this door down any further as the rear quarterlight seals are beyond their best. Replacements aren't available to my knowledge. But with the previously bead-rolled door panel, loosely in place, this side is starting to look quite good IMHO. On the glass are the two hinge plates in body colour. But also a random piece of ali sprayed in the body colour, I'll do a grey one too. I think it will be quite useful to have the sparyouts to hand when looking for interior colours etc. I'll let that harden off for a few days, and then fit the seal, it is a horrible job to do on the car, so I might as well do it on the panel stand. Thanks for looking as always.

The front wing is bolted on, it has been on/off a few times, so it went back on without too many dramas. I used a non-setting sealant on the joints. I don't ever see me taking it off, but no need for Sikaflex/Tiger bond. More masking, so I can spray some grey around the door shuts. I wanted to get the grey on the A/B/C pillars so I can refit the doors, alas I've got some runs I need to address, as my trusty small spray gun was playing up. But I can't bolt the doors back on until the inners are painted. More masking A good coat of etch primer, and we are getting there. I'll leave that to dry overnight, and see if I can put some colour on it tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Going a bit off topic, but I've seen a 3D printer that instead of printing in plastic. It prints in casting sand, so you can go straight to the casting stage - very clever.

i don't know anything about their construction methods, but it looks like paint coverings and seam sealing far surpasses the factory, in areas exposed to water and debris thrown from the road surface ? The original BMC seam sealer has actually survived pretty well in some places. Shame they only seemed to use it in three places There wasn't much evidence of other factory rust proofing left on mine, I doubt it was a priority back in 1967 I've not been a slave to originality on some of my repairs in the inner wing/a-pillar/sill area as there are quite a few factory rust traps. But I've not boxed everything closed, rather than made it so it can be hosed out easily.

Time to get rid of some of the 50 shades of grey. But first get the outer wing sorted. Quite a bit of detailing on the various repairs. Then etch primer, seal sealer, and then more etch before the Gravitex. Slather on some cellulose top-coat, taking care to get some paint on all the edges, so it can be bolted on. I still need to finish the filler work on the outside of the wing, but I'll do that when it is back on the car. Back onto the bodyshell, I'd previously blocked the primer filler, and re-masked. A very short garage means I've got to paint in sections. First pass of colour will allow me to get the panels back on, and the car back on its wheels. The inner wing is done too, so the outer wing can go on shortly. I was only using my little cheap touch-up gun. Something like this But even so I managed to get a pretty decent finish out of the gun on the sill. I've only got enough space in my garage to work on one loose panel at a time, but once the paint has hardened off a bit, I can get the wing on, and then start painting the doors one by one. Thanks for looking

ado16fool nice one - thanks for taking the time to register and post up. I'd love to see some of the early history of the car. I bought to from Cornwall, so maybe it has lived its whole life in that corner of the world before I got hold of it. I've got some history with it, be good to tie that up. Looking forward to the stories and pictures. Thanks again

I've got a Sparco WRC tool roll, which is the size of a backpack. Great tool roll inside, with velcro straps for hammers etc. Hangs on a big strong hook in the garage until I need it - which thankfully isn't often.

A busy weekend First light coat of etch primer went on without drama, but now with the car all one colour, it revealed a few area such as this scuttle that needed a minor rework. I thought I'd caught all the edges, and got them as a constant radius - but seems not. A few hours detailing with glaze will hopefully pay dividends. Seam sealer on the inner wing. Then a 2nd heavier coat of etch over everything on the passenger side of the bodyshell Upol-gravitex on the inner wing. Then it was time to lay the cellulose primer filler. Lots on the sill and rear wing so it can be blocked down. Hours of masking gets ripped off in just a few minutes, but it is satisfying. Lots of paint and stuff went on, possibly too much, but the weather was nice, and I wanted to crack on. But I'm going to give the body shell some time to harden off. Next job is to get the front wing etch'd and stone-chipped ready to bolt back on. Thanks for looking.

Some say bodywork is only done when your fingers hurt. Well I'm at that stage, so time to start masking. Masking takes me ages - there is probably 2-3 hours work here. The side opening bonnet isn't a modification, I have just run out of space to store the body panels. Tomorrow I should be able to spray the etch primer. Then the inner wing will get seam sealed and stone-chipped. The back 2/3rds will get some primer/filler. Thanks for looking.

I've just stumbled across another option for chrome paint. But cheap and in the UK Custom paints
Their system seems similar to the well regarded Alsa Easy Chrome, ie black basecoat, before the chrome paint. Their speedshape isn't the best I've seen, but However you can get 100ml for £20 it might be cost effective for badges etc.
