So after a bit of fettering we managed to get the seat frames and seats fitted. The 53fab subframes are made for a mk1 golf so needed soon slight adjustment with Mr angle grinder to fit and cut the drivers side height down due to sitting too high. Still thinking of doing a possible foamectomy to make the seat sit lower. I did the same as I did with the passenger seat do its on the leon fr seat bases for added side bolster support on the bases. Still got the plastics to refit

Cheers! But more progress on this, Found the leak! It was coming in through the rear window zeal. Luckily I had one spare, so whilst the missus was at work I gave it a clean It definitely needed it Also got the tires of the banded steels and my friend started work on rubbing through the billion layers of paint Turns out they are 7.5j wide after measuring them. A parcel turned up which is the seat frames to fit the new seats, will tackle this job tomorrow along with a few others

Managed to get the other parcel shelf support off and tidied up. Got a few bits to clean up and tidy up next Also did a bit of modifying on the new seats. I had some seat leon fr seats lying around from a previous build so I used the base frames and back from them and swapped the foam across from the new seats onto this. It has made the bases more supportive in the bolster and the seat a lot lighter! Seat on the left is the modified one. Will do the drivers side one next week. Have also ordered some seat bases adapters that should make fitting a lot easier!

The scirocco took a bit of a rest whilst going through the bad weather Leak in the boot got worse so decided to strip the rear of the interior to locate it and kinda got carried away! Have now decided to keep the rear seats out and do a seat delete in the back and remove the parcel shelf supports to make a cleaner rear end. Removed the support from one side And you can see how cleaner it becomes This is a few pictures that I am aiming for Also picked up some new seats which I got off Facebook market place for a steal And after a clean Got the seats for £20 which were removed from a new beetle pickup conversion. They have been retrimmed in the past with no expense spared on brown leather and tweed. I love the look of them and feel they will go well with the black and red of the car. I believe the seats are from a mk1 touran. Going to order some mk1 golf seat adapters to make fitting them slightly easier. Also I've fixed the no speedo fault I was having. Appears the gear input in the gearbox end decided to live inside the gearbox. A new one fitted with no issues. I've signed up to a few shows in summer so have a deadline with getting the interior sorted and the wheels sorted ready for them. Will update with more pictures when I can!

Sorry for the lack of updates, weather has not been on my side! So the parcel from poland arrived and was fitted, Has changed the rear end massively Fitted new spoiler seals whilst the spoiler was off to fit. Finally got chance to put the coilovers on. Rears were a doddle and got both sides done and on in 30 minutes huge difference in size from old and new ones! Fronts were a different story and took a lot longer to do. Fitted new front top mounts at the same time as the old ones were completely shot. Once fitted had to readjust them and add a small 5mm spacer on the front as the tyres were rubbing against the springs. These wheels won't be staying, but still needed it to be drivable! Retro ride sticker also fitted Back end needs to come up slightly and will add spacers on the rear until I get the new wheels refurbed and on. Got the interior all cleaned up Need to change the seats as they aren't the original ones from a GT2. I believe they are from a earlier model and that's why they are grey. Think of trying some different front seats but I will see what comes up. Now a few more issues have popped up - Speedo stopped working, I have taken the speedo out and checked the cogs behind and they are still working ok, so it must be gearbox end, will get a new speedo cable for this - broke one of the window wipers, just need to order another - Still have a leak in the boot. I believe there is rust behind the rear window seal, so I will need to investigate this further - Slight fuel leak still there event after replacing the pipe, again I believe this is the filler pipe, so will need to get a new one or get this one repaired Really enjoying the car still, but will be getting used less as the weather gets worse!

Thanks for the hints about brakes. When test fitting the new wheels today i found the fronts have already been changed from solid discs to vented. so next step will be 260mm i reckon as it'll have to fit under the 14inch wheels. Still in the middle of sanding and stripping them so please ignore the state of them and tyres need inflating. Just need to get the wheels finished and it lowered. Should hopefully try and get the coilovers fitted this weekend if all goes well. The tyres are different profiles, the rear are 55 and the fronts are 45. Most likely I will get tyres changed and go for same profile all the way round

love seeing everyones old sciroccos! Craig1010cc - what audi brakes did you fit? Not had chance to do much on the car recently due to work and family. Did manage to pick up a set of wheels 14inch banded steels, originally golf steels. about 9J in width and in need of a refurbishment! just placed against the current wheels Gave them a quick clean and some of the paint cleared with just a jet wash Paint stripper applied and this is where we are at tonight Will see how they look in morning but will either give them a sand or more paint stripper then a sand. Thining of going for a statin black for them with a satin lacquer Again thanks for all the nice comments so far!

Looks like a good base to work on!
The centre display Looks like the middle bulb has gone and that's why it's slightly darker.
Has it got the trip button on the stalks for the centre display? If not you can change the stalks and it should give your mpg, miles to empty etc on it

So managed to do a bit more to the car this week. Took the rear lights out to reseal them and found a few spider nests which were quickly removed! Also managed to remove the blank for the 2nd rear fog light, just need to pick up a bulb for it. Removed the standard steering wheel and got the new one fitted. Feels a lot better now. Also fitted a universal back box to the rear. Previous owner had done a back box delete and it was far too loud. Sounds a lot better and I can hear myself think now in the car too Will get better pictures once Ive got the car cleaned up

Not sure if it’s been mentioned , but re seal the rear lights , mine was leaking through both . 👍 Do the rear lights have seals? Or is just a case of cleaning and using sealant? Cheers!

For all the Louvre lovers out there, it has been completed and has been posted out today to myself! hopefully arrive towards the end of next week. Managed to get a few little jobs done on the car today. I still have a leak coming in the boot, the boot lock seal looks pretty suspect, most likely the original still! Replaced with one from Dreadnought customs The actual seal was also split. The rear badges are held on by little grommet things, which looking at the state of the ones fitted needed changing too. One of the previous owners also painted over them. Ive had to order another 2 as I only ordered 6 In my dreadnought custom order, the gauge holder also arrived I need to remove the ashtray to get to fit, and fitted Will hopefully refit it to the car tomorrow. The gauges will still need wiring up but will get to that once ive ordered the new sensor for the oil pressure. Also tried to fit the steering wheel, but the boss is the wrong size. Need to purchase one with a smaller spindle, then it should fit with no issue. A new exhaust has also arrived, just a universal back box but it should help quiet it down a little!

Thanks for all the lovely comments so far. Really enjoying the 'rocco and the smiles it brings on peoples faces who tell you stories about when they were younger. Got home from work and received a parcel excuse the mess, its the chaos that comes with a 1 year old! Its not a genuine one as the price and paid i doubt it is, but it'll do! will hopefully fit on Monday And here is a tease of something that's getting custom made in Poland for the car

Zeberdee I love your old one! The wheels are fantastic, they are a contender for this one. Have decided to call the car benny after the last 3 digits of the number plate BNE. Got some new pressed plates today, thought I had ticked the black boarder button but I must not have. Although they don't look too bad i don't think. And as suggested, the fogs needed to go. Ive left the brackets on for now as I need to take bumper off to get to them, but they aren't that noticeable at the moment. Feel it has tidied up the front end nicely. May look into a bonnet lip eventually then it'll be perfect. Also picked this up locally from a audi 80, VDO gauges Already removed them from the centre console and they will be getting fitted above the radio in this part Have ordered a holder from Dreadnought customs and will get them fitted next week.

Got chance to have a play this afternoon after finishing night shift. Started out with the standard front end Removed the smaller inner lights that hold a 2nd high beam And a mk2 golf grill, carefully cut down to fit the space! cable tied into place. I feel this has transformed the front of the car, and looks amazing! Managed to sort out the door check strap, it was hidden in the door so just needed pulling out and reattaching. Had a look at the retro amp that was under the rear seats, and after re attaching the ground got it working again and the speakers in the boot now work. Unsure on wether Ill be keeping this or not, but nice to know that it all works and was a easy fix! Now the fuel issue that happened on the drive home hasn't happened again since. Ive still decided to investigate this and took the pickup out of the fuel tank and was greeted with this it didn't look as bad as I thought it would be, but still enough little deposits to clog the pickup. I used a magnet to pick up any loose bits I could see and this is what I got out A few bigger bits, the car still has half a tank of fuel so need to get it down to empty then I will see about removing the tank and investigating properly. After todays jobs went for a drive to get Ice cream, and had to take a picture Now I need to get this lowered and a new set of wheels! I'm debating on wether to remove the front fogs too, to give the front end a cleaner look or to keep them. Whats your thoughts?

So had a half day training course at work today which afterwards I gave my purchase a good looking over! I drove it to my training day and it left a huge smile on my face, and the amount of people looking at it as you drove past was awesome! So here it is on the drive, Only shot I took today will get more after I've gave it a clean! Now these are in the boot, not sure if they work and unsure if Ill use them or not Decided to trace the wiring from the speakers in the boot back and found this little retro treasure stashed under the rear seats It appears to be wired up bar the ground attached and the remote cable, Although it does appear fairly rusty too The dash board is in very good condition and no cracks too! There is a small leak in the rear, so far I am 95% certain its from the rear washer jet. This is going to be deleted along with the wiper anyway so I set about removing both the hose, resviour and the pump The boot area needs tidying up as someone has sprayed it black and its started to scratch and peel off. Once I know the boot is leak free I may look at carpeting the sides. Now onto todays task, removing the radio. This is what I was greeted with and also note the poor fitting by the heater control panel, turned out to be some missing screw. And this is what has replaced it with a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB. Yes it was fairly pricey but I wanted something that looked like it belonged there instead of sticking out like a swore thumb. First impression is very good, although the menus are tricky to navigate but I'm sure ill get used to them. Also whilst testing I did find the passenger side speaker wasn't working. Took off the grill and the speaker to check the connectors and found it hadn't been plugged in! Plugged back in and it works lovely now, although they Proberly need replacing too! Also have a small fuel leak, believed to be coming from here Now this could either be the hose, tank, or filler neck. All known issues for the Scirocco's. I ordered a new hose as its the cheapest and will inspect all 3 parts once it has arrived. I have also ordered a magnet on a stick to pick up any deposits inside of the fuel tank if it is rust. This could also be causing the starvation issue I had on the drive home when I picked it up.

The tints and the vinyl have transformed the car massively already! Really like the vinyl on the front doors too. Thats something I never would of thought about but it certainly has made a difference.
Keep up the good work!
