Beautiful transformation v1xz! Looks amazing dude. What rubbing compound did you use, was it G3? Halfords own rubbing compound paste, believe it or not! I looked at expensive ones, G3 3M Maguiers but the reviews on Halfords compound paste was good so I thought I cant wrong on a £5 tub and also my paints already knackered so its a learning curve. But this is how it come out, obviously you have to use a machine and more then one pass of this paste is needed. www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/fillers-preparation/halfords-rubbing-compoundAt £5 a pop with results like that is great going! Good effort mate, another case of materials can only be as good as the person using them!

You may need to look abroad for spares on those bud... I know there's a few floating around in Ireland also. You tried the Starlet FB pages?

Didn't want to raise any questions but since it's provisionally sold, I just wanted to ask why the rear is raised higher than the front and slightly skewed? Do these things have independent height adjustment or something ??

Hi mate, some awesome work being carried out here.
I am toying with the idea of putting a K20 in my SB3 Civic.
Have you got any pics of ground clearance of the oil sump whilst in the Nova?
Thanks

pSyCoSiS Listen. If you buy it, I could maybe go up to Edinburgh next week and bring it down to mine if it helped. That would half the distance. I'd keep it on my drive until you could get up to mine on Teesside. Hope that helps. Appreciate that Chris, you're a gentleman. In case I can get things sorted at my end, I'll let you know. But currently too much tied up in other cars and the wife would go mad if I did a mission up north and drove back in yet another car! Thank you for the offer - really appreciate it and it shows the kind nature of the good people on this RR forum. Buy the car pSyCoSiS, we are not taking no for an answer.

I love that - really want it, but currently have no way of getting up to Edinburgh to collect it. The French really did know how to make big comfy barges back in the 80s / 90s. GLWS. Train, coach, hitch up,,,,,, drive back... 👍 That's it, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Last year, I bought and drove back an old 80's banger from Liverpool with a failed water pump. It was around 2 and half hour journey home in normal circumstances. But I had to stop over 20 times to top car up with water and then splash some over the engine to keep it cool. Not to mention having to drive the whole way at 40-50mph! I knew what was involved and bought a couple gallon of water with me.. Even then, i ran out of water and had to find services real quick before my engine exploded into a ball of flames. Found them, quick pee and tea and then back on road. Took me almost 6 hours in total to get home. The car only cost £150. New water pump was £20. Not missed a single beat until just yesterday...starter motor is on it's way out haha...but she done extremely well this year considering the banger treatment it has had! Now I look back and laugh at what I went through but at the same time believe it was the best decision ever. Lovely Reno btw looks very luxurious, GLWS !

Absolutely love it man, great work! Happy to see it rescued. You lucked out on not getting the Rover then because this is much cooler! haha Don't be fooled, these are super quick when built right. It's incredible the amount of newer and much more powerful cars I can still destroy casually in my boggo 1.3 50 bhp poverty spec SB3 Civic, that feeling is just priceless. Hands down one of the best handling cars I've ever driven and they remind you it's all about driver skill. Here are my babies. Blue one going on road soon. Silver one coming off shortly to build Motul replica race car for track use. I have a 1.5 unit on standby for my daily which I'd like to put ITB's on. I'm still hmmm'n on which engine to choose for my track car. The original Motul race car was built using a ZC series engine which I believe came in the CRX's.

Love it! I have 1 of these in same colour as yours. I love these things so much that I own 2 of them! They are the perfect classic to daily as mine returns around 45 mpg! The other will be built for track.. Never see much about these things posted so pretty ecstatic to see 2 build threads on these on the same morning! A 1986 EA (i think) Civic. These are SB3 Civics my brother. Anyway here's a couple cheeky shots of one of mine after deep detail for some inspiration. Bookmarked, look forward to seeing progress on yours.

The DETT won't fit because of the second turbo. It would hit the steering shaft. RB is nice but only a 2.5L so in my eyes a step backwards... ;-) Ah dude, have you tried fitting one?? In that case it would need to be DET with 1 big 'fak off' turbo lol. haha yeah I did have that thought but I really like the flexibility and tuning options with RB engines... Thanks dude, maybe the same one as I've been informed it's very likely the only one in the country.. Lovely motor, looks very tidy that! Yes, that's the turbo variant of the same engine in mine. Thanks for the offer but with 80k miles, mine is far from redundant! Will be detailing similar to yours. If I ever decide to change engines, it will most likely be the 300zx twin turbo engine or maybe if I'm feeling adventurous and go RB Thought i remembered seeing this from way back when dreadnought owned it in 2011. Wish i bought it when he wanted £700 for it! forum.retro-rides.org/thread/104542/1986-nissan-leopard-price-drop?page=1Yes I saw this! Absolute bargain even 7 and half years ago. I can't speak for J prices on these 7 and half years ago, but prices for these in Japan are going up at a astonishing rate. The face lift models are still quiet cheap but the pre face lift models are going for silly money! They seem to be much rarer too. www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/NISSAN/LEOPARD/700050227630170609001/index.htmlwww.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/NISSAN/LEOPARD/700050227630160217001/index.html

I remember seeing one of these for sale a few years back, they are very cool Thanks dude, maybe the same one as I've been informed it's very likely the only one in the country.. My VG30DET is for sale BTW.... Lovely motor, looks very tidy that! Yes, that's the turbo variant of the same engine in mine. Thanks for the offer but with 80k miles, mine is far from redundant! haha thanks and no problem. He may have already seen it if he's on M30 facebook page. I had not seen it yet, but I must say it's stunning! AThanks for the kind words dude! That looks so good inside and out. Bookmarked - can't wait to see more of the big slabby breeze block haha thanks..just got couple subtle changes planned on the short term. And of course all the rust is currently being sorted before we hit winter! I have a SB3 Civic Motul replica track car to build first so this one will most likely be going into storage and only coming out very occasionally! I think that think looks awesome, and that's really saying something as its at least 30 years newer than the stuff I usually like. It's great. haha yes, well the 80's is my favourite era of cars. It was an era of belief and strong constructive competition between manufacturers all over the world. Now, with the enforcement of all these new rules and regulations, they all offer pretty much the same product that are all similar and mundane to drive! Thanks dude!

I always have a soft spot for these, some years back, one evening myself and an old RR face called Hirst, were looking through Japanese importers websites, and the auto translation had renamed a certain version of a Leopard into "Leopard J Ferryboat". Best comedy name ever! haha well it is a bit of a ferryboat, absolutely huge! About the same length as a new 5 series.

Looks great, awesome spec for 1986. Thanks man. Yup, it were well ahead of it's time! He's quiet famous then! haha... yeah proper sound guy, we are good pals now. Which sticker is that dude? I think I'll be keeping 'Oldboy' and 'Exiled' stickers, rest going to be cleaned off. Thanks for kind words The slambox sticker over the front. I've known him since I bought my Mazda. So about 5 years now see it there. Yh, I'm wanting to add my own twist. Awesome, quiet a bit then! What a treasure find! Bet the V6 sounds brilliant too Oh dude, it's like music to my ears, such a wonderful note with decat. It's my first ever v6 too. haha haha I'm glad it's your new favourite! I was actually close to buying one of those Glorias. Love it, bit of max power styling going on there.. A cassette changer sounds like an awesome piece of kit! it is when you're my granddad's age! Nice car mate. The little changes you have in mind will lift the car in appearance. I have seen this model years ago for sale at a Japanese import car dealer. Really nice car. Yours looks really good. I like these Japanese importers with all the extra's. I bought an imported Delica a few years ago and there is still one button I haven't worked out Ahh thanks for the kind words dude. Yup, previous owner kept it well but I wanted to add my own twist. Yup, many 80's jdm stuff is full of gizmos and gadgets. I like those Delcia's but don't know too much about them. Ever taken it off road? He had it up on FB and various other places for a while before I had it off him.. haha don't worry about that dude, will take very good care of it. The Leopard is already at the body shop having a bit of welding done to sills where there was some rust.. I'm not really into J stuff but that is ace! Oh man, your missing out on life! Thanks for the kind words though.. mega mega cool car! Yup, no idea they existed! Enjoy it Thanks buddy. Yup, it's a bit of a unicorn! Very cool! I'll have to send a link to this thread to a friend of mine who has the US market version (Infiniti M30). haha thanks and no problem. He may have already seen it if he's on M30 facebook page.

That spec would be impressive today! haha everyone says that. I forgot to mention that headlights also turn with the steering wheel! Citroen beat them to that bit of tech though. Wow,that is something quite special. I like it a lot. Keep the updates coming! Thank you for the kind words hotrodder! Will do. Sweet ride - not sure about the nail polish though lol. haha, was waiting for that one. My better half was in the drivers seat having a little play with the gizmos. I know the chap you bought this off, wicked motor. Only one in the UK I believe. Yes, great guy. We are still in touch! He says 99% sure it's the only one in uk as you can never be sure whose got what hidden in their garages. They are ultra rare even in Japan and becoming sought after.

Good afternoon ladies n gents, I recently got rid of my Toyota Starlet Glanza V in a bid to protect my license. Those motors are such a bad influence and everyone just wants to race with you! Anyway, to fill the JDM void in my heart, I acquired this vehicle a few weeks back. 1986 Nissan Leopard Ultima 3.0 V6 F31. Not heard of it? Don't worry, I hadn't heard about them either until I stumbled across this one. Yes that's right, this car had me trippin'. It is essentially a Nissan Skyline R31, they share the same chassis and geometry with 2 inches being added to the front and back of the Leopard. 2 inches doesn't seem like much but you can just tell how much more sharper this motor looks against the R31 Skyline. You will also notice how the front tiny bit resembles an R32 Skyline. Technology? This thing would have made the best of marques tremble in their feet with the level of kit it has got. Honestly, every time I jump in a discover a new button/feature which is awesome because your never quiet sure what you will discover next. So far, I have uncovered the following features: Automatic Lights turn on when dark outside Automatic Wipers turn on when rain hits sensor 2-mode cruise control (not had opportunity to discover what 2 mode is about) Super Sonic Suspension which adjusts dampness on monitoring road ahead Adjustable Sport, normal and soft suspension settings Electric adjustable driver seats x3 inflatable air bolsters in driver seat to support lower, mid and upper back AC, zonal climate control which I've not fully worked out yet Full digital dash Height Adjustable rear aerial 5 cassette tape changer/player Furry soft Wool padded door cards and floor Probably a couple of things I've missed there. Under the hood, it has a lovely happy sounding 3.0 V6 with 24 valves with quad cams! It purrrs just like a Leopard and goes really well. I've also been informed about 300zx 3.0 twin turbo engines being a straight swap with no fabrication work required in these but not something I would look at until much further down the line. The best thing about it imho is not the level of technology, or its big 3.0 v6 engine. The best thing by far is the driver satisfaction/feeling. This is the first ever car I've jumped into and actually felt like just driving really slowly. It's such a comfortable place to be, the seats are extremely accommodating and the soft wool is so cosy. It's a wonderful place to be. It sounds and feels like an american muscle car, only it turns much better. Turning circle is fantastic. And when you put your foot down, the spirit of the Skyline emerges and it shifts really well and hold down on the road just like it should considering the Motorsport heritage the Skyline earned. So your probably thinking theres gotta be some sort catch, it must weigh a few tonnes so must be nothing like a Skyline. Well actually, with all the technology and that big old v6, this car still only weighs 1,500 kg which was pretty impressive, a bit more than an R31 Skyline but still not massively more. I am planning on removing those stickers, replacing sun visor sticker with a plain white strip and painting the wheels a dark bronze/gold colour. So there you have it... a 1986 Nissan Leopard Ultima.
