Morning Ladies and Gents, Its a 1997 P reg AX Spree with a spritely 954cc of SOHC goodness. Its clicked over the 100k miles when i bought it 4 months ago to replace the car that I had crashed (se above) and since then it has been a brilliant little runner and now has 105k on it. Located in Aylesbury (HP22) or Derby (DE56) MOT - 24.08.08 Tax - 31.08.08 £320 OVNOPic Time: Good Points: Reliable Economical Unmodified BRAND new tyre - Goodyear bought on Saturday 24.05.08 Very little rust to be seen New indicator units Immobiliser CD/MP3 Head Unit Bad Points: Glove box hinge broken Crack in windscreen Needs new front wiper Small holes in driver seat (previous owner smoked but i have got rid of the smell) Slight knocking on right hand corners Paintwork is generally chipped scratched - what do you expect? Extras It will come with 4 wheel trims Comes with 2*H4 bulbs Other than that, there's not alot i can say. Viewing welcome, test drive as long as you're insured. you could solve a few of those with new shock and springs all round as i bet the headlight aim is to do with the sticked rear end and near stock front end.

just read from start to finished and this is truly inspiring stuff. I wanna get out there and learn some of you skills, full respect to the home made adjustable suspension kit and for putting a huge amount of effort to restoring a car that would otherwise have been a gonner.

how would you notice the 17% of american children with reduced intelligence?
on-topic: i have recently added a 12g940 leaded head to my a series but because i completely cleaned the head and had the seats re-cut, i wouldbe cautious of running unleaded as it will have no 'lead memory'. I do occasionally put high octane stuff in once in every 5 or 6 fillx and forgo the additive but i only do a few thousand miles a year so i doubt its to damaging. I do like to rev the balls off it tho so sounds like its best to stick to the lead ad.

fair enough you think we have control over the price of petrol but did you think anyone wanted to read those 'potential reader' statistics. what aload of balls. We still end up buying the same amount of petrol (or maybe a bit more for the extra driving distance) and its the government who profits out of UK consumer petrol sales, not the conglomerates

I'm not after performance, don't want to raise my premiums from my 998 mini v8mike. I could swap now but i will lose a heavy admin fee and a years ncb as tesco only transfer whole ncbs. k11 seems the way forward, all 16v injection which seems kl. rust is ok as long as its not structural, just mot i need, not sexy cars.

that bad on the rust? just gotta hope its superficial and not near a structural point wrt the MOT. I had planned on spending 2-300 but i would like to sell it with some test otherwise it could just sit on my drive for ages waiting to be collected by a scapper.

Good evening. I have just heard from tescos that they will not insure me for any mods on my mini (gotta be 21) meaning the mountain of stuff in my room and the few bits that I have bothered to fit are marginally illegal. I want to buy a runnaround to get me to june (19 and 2 years NCB) so i can insure my mini with HIC or some mini specialist company. I'm thinking early 90s micra or maybe a starlet as the engines seem pretty bullet proof and can go for a bit.
My only concern is the MOT, what sort of thing do these fail on and are they the kind of things a learner mechanic with a socket set can sort out as most of the cars f/s have 3-4months MOt on but i will lose loadsa money if i sell it wouthout MOT.

i bought a cheap 200 piece "chinese" tool kit because i needed alot of tools quickly and I intend to replace the stuff that breaks with better stuff but in the meanwhile, my £80 (including chest) has done me with just some of the screwdriver heads chipping.

i'm getting really fed up of ebayin. The fees seem to get worse, added to paypal fees and increasing parcel fees, i just offer my stuff on forums, less hassle and just as much protection from the "forum reputation" scale as these forced feedbacck results.

you will really struggle to make money on paying for someone to fix the bodywork and selling it. Also theyr often so much worse underneath. Scuttle could mean inner a-panel is shot and bulkhead. doors more than likely through the bottom. And putting wider wheels and erches won't add much value. Better off fitting wide wheels and arches, reverting to standard to sell and selling the othe rbit separately.
i say enjoy it, fix what you can and get the look you like but its worth as much standard as people are always looking to restore to factory.

i was a bit suspiscious at first when you said "just log onto here and enter your car details", sounded like some scam but its good to have peace of mins about your insurance... now to declare the mods...
